The Director, Business Development will drive new business, generate leads, and close deals within the healthcare/pharma sector, targeting revenue growth and building strategic partnerships.
We are seeking a Director, Business Development to drive new business acquisition and revenue growth. This is a highly strategic and entrepreneurial role. You will be P10’s first dedicated business development hire, responsible for building relationships, generating leads, and closing deals with pharmaceutical and healthcare clients. You bring a strong personal network in the healthcare/pharma marketing space, as well as a proven ability to deliver against quotas in a competitive, consultative sales environment.
This role is an individual contributor focused on sourcing and converting new opportunities with the potential to grow into a sales leadership role as we scale. You will report to the Principal Managing Partner and work closely with our Managing Partner of Growth and Innovation.
This role is open to fully remote candidates in the United States located in NY, NJ or PA. Travel will be required up 20% to client sites.
Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sales Execution
- Drive new business revenue through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship building.
- Leverage existing industry contacts and networks to generate qualified leads.
- Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing deals.
- Develop tailored proposals in collaboration with internal teams.
- Identify sales needs (e.g. case studies) and work with cross functional teams to complete items.
- Partner with leadership to define sales strategy, target markets, and revenue goals.
- Establish sales processes, reporting, and pipeline management best practices.
- Represent P10 at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
- Provide market intelligence on competitive activity, trends, and opportunities.
- Carry and deliver against an annual quota aligned with company growth goals.
- Track and report on pipeline, forecasting, and sales activity.
- Collaborate with finance and leadership on pricing, contracts, and deal structures.

Requirements
- 8–12+ years of progressive sales/business development experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical marketing/communications.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and driving multimillion-dollar revenue growth.
- Deep knowledge of the pharma/healthcare agency landscape, including regulatory environments and client decision-making processes.
- Strong existing network of decision-makers at pharmaceutical/healthcare companies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build processes from scratch.
- Comfortable in a boutique agency environment where adaptability and ownership are key.
