We are UMG, the Universal Music Group. We are the world’s leading music company. In everything we do, we are committed to artistry, innovation and entrepreneurship. We own and operate a broad array of businesses engaged in recorded music, music publishing, merchandising, and audiovisual content in more than 60 countries. We identify and develop recording artists and songwriters, and we produce, distribute and promote the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful music to delight and entertain fans around the world.

How We LEAD:

Merchandise and ecommerce are part of the fabric of music culture. For artists, it is a way to develop and further articulate their brand. For fans, it is a pathway to connecting more deeply with the artists and the culture they represent.

Famehouse, Universal Music Group's eCommerce division, powers direct-to-consumer businesses for UMG's labels, artists, and partners - delivering creative storefronts, innovative product programs, and data-driven growth strategies.

The Insights & Strategy team sits at the center of this work. We transform data into direction, build the frameworks and tools that guide decision-making, and raise the strategic bar for D2C across UMG.

This role will help expand our insights and reporting capabilities across channels while strengthening the quality, consistency, and strategic value of our reporting products.

How You'll CREATE:
  • Set the roadmap for omnichannel insights and reporting
  • Define and drive the roadmap to expand insights and reporting across channels - prioritizing what to build, for whom, and why.

  • Translate executive and partner needs into clear analytical products (dashboards, scorecards, playbooks, and narratives).
  • Establish and enforce clear definitions, sources of truth, and reporting standards that improve trust and reduce rework.
  • Build scalable BI products, frameworks, and tooling
  • Own the strategy and delivery of scalable BI outputs that move from reactive reporting to proactive, action-based insight.
  • Identify recurring pain points and convert them into systematic solutions (templates, automation, repeatable frameworks).
  • Partner with BI and engineering leaders to improve upstream reliability (models, QA, pipelines, accessibility) and ensure infrastructure supports the strategic vision.
  • Influence decision-making through storytelling
  • Raise the bar for how insights are communicated: crisp executive narratives, decision framing, and clear implications for different audiences.
  • Lead business reviews and executive readouts; connect performance to strategy and prioritize what changes next.
  • Represent insights in cross-functional forums, aligning stakeholders and driving follow-through.
  • Lead and scale the team
  • Directly manage and develop team members - setting clear expectations, coaching for growth, and holding a high bar for quality and impact.
  • Create operating rhythms that improve prioritization, reduce ad hoc noise, and increase team leverage.
  • Hire and onboard talent as needed; build a culture of ownership, learning, and strong craft.

Bring Your VIBE:

Leadership and strategic capabilities:

  • Proven people leader with direct management experience and a track record of developing talent.
  • Ability to set direction, create structure from ambiguity, and drive measurable impact through analytics and insight products.
  • Strong stakeholder management: you align executives, creatives, and technical partners toward shared priorities.
  • Analytical and technical toolkit
  • Deep experience with BI and modern analytics workflows; strong SQL fluency required.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Looker/LookML, Tableau, Data Studio, Domo, or similar.
  • Comfort partnering with engineering on models, pipelines, metric governance, and data quality.

Experience and background

  • 6+ years of experience in analytics/BI, insights, strategy, consulting, ecommerce, media/entertainment, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ownership of cross-functional roadmaps and delivery of analytics products used by senior decision-makers.
  • Direct people management experience required.

You are someone who:

  • Can zoom in to debug a metric and zoom out to shape a business narrative.
  • Cares about craft: accuracy, clarity, usability, and follow-through.
