Position Summary:

The Director, Client Implementations leads the successful onboarding and renewal of clients by driving high-quality implementation planning and execution. They serve as a key escalation point, ensuring clear communication and resolution of complex issues while supporting executive leadership with strategic updates. This role mentors and develops the implementation team, fosters cross-functional collaboration, and champions a culture of teamwork and integrity. The Director is also responsible for meeting performance goals and enhancing client satisfaction through proactive and strategic decision-making.

What you will do:

Stakeholder Engagement and Executive Support:

  • Serve as the second point of escalation (internal/external) for managing highly visible issues and requests
  • Assist in the development of business updates and supporting materials for executive leadership
  • Maintain and support the mission of bringing integrity, clarity, and trust to all new and renewing client implementations through a strategic lens
  • Provide proactive recommendations with well-supported rationale for all implementation activities

Team Leadership: 

  • Provide leadership to the team with a focus on high quality implementation planning and execution, internal cross-collaboration, compliant pharmacy benefit build, and client satisfaction
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with peer leadership team and internal/external support teams to deliver best-in-class client implementations including strategic and tactical implementation plans
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional leadership team to support a culture of authenticity and teamwork
  • Effectively communicate internally and externally the company mission/vision/values as well as strategic and tactical implementation processes
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team; build a high functioning team by directly or indirectly hiring, mentoring, coaching, and training team members

Performance Monitoring:

  • Develop and implement strategies to meet implementation performance guarantees, serving as an advocate for both operations and clients
  • Leverage member best practices to enhance client engagement, incentives, and outcomes, ensuring maximum utilization

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support sales initiatives, requests for information (RFI), requests for proposal (RFP), and finalist meetings
  • Lead key internal Implementation operations initiatives as required 
  • Provide guidance on internal and external collaborative projects and needs
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and problem resolution

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration required; advanced degree and PMP certification preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare and/or PBM implementations, along with building and managing high functioning teams required
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the abilities to simplify, automate and change complex processes in order to improve both the Implementation and member experience
  • Lead a large diverse client portfolio with a diverse team of individuals, while ensuring goals, services and projects are completed on time, on quality, on budget
  • Strong planning, problem analysis skills with ability to drive a consumer-centric mind set. Ability to think strategically and execute tactically and communicate effectively, timely with transparency
  • Organizationally savvy with the ability to read people and work seamlessly across all teams and all levels of stakeholders in order to collaborate and positively influence outcomes
  • Growth mindset, with the ability to lead change by applying best practice and techniques in helping staff to build resiliency and quickly adapt to changing requirements and rapid growth
  • Client focused mindset with experience in client-facing roles, solving complex customer concerns, managing escalations, and serving as a point of escalation
  • Experience leading remote teams and working in a remote environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel (20%-40%)
