Overview of the Team 

The Cloud Engineering & Infrastructure team is dedicated to designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud environments that support the company's strategic goals. The team ensures the scalability, reliability, and security of cloud-based solutions, enabling seamless operations and innovation.

 

Role Overview:

The Director of Cloud Engineering & Infrastructure will lead the strategic planning, development, and implementation of innovative cloud-based solutions, technologies and infrastructure.

  • Responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of the company's cloud environments and technologies while setting strategic directions for cloud engineering, designing modern architectures for multi-cloud deployments, evaluating future technical solutions, and assessing security risks.
  • Work closely with leaders in Product Engineering, Global Engineering, Infrastructure, Operations, Security Architecture, and solution stakeholders to develop a premier cloud ecosystem.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud technologies, infrastructure management, and team leadership.

The Director of Cloud Engineering & Infrastructure will play a pivotal role in transforming the company's cloud strategy, ensuring that the infrastructure is scalable, secure, and efficient. By leading a talented team of cloud engineers and architects, they will drive innovation, optimize performance, and implement robust security measures. Their leadership will enable seamless operations, support business growth, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across the organization.

 

Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related experience for a minimum of 7 years.
  • 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering and infrastructure management.
    Proven track record of leading and managing technical teams.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security and compliance.
  • Design, implement and manage scalable cloud architectures.
  • Oversee the deployment, monitoring and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud performance and costs.
  • Implement automation and orchestration tools to streamline implementations and operations.
  • Support the infrastructure, new development and users for the IPC Portal.
  • Collaborate effectively across multiple organizations to achieve objectives.
  • Agile/Lean background for projects and project delivery.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and workflow automation tools (e.g.; Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline solutions (e.g.; Jenkins)
  • Experience with web service integration protocols and version control (e.g.; GIT)
  • Certification in cloud technologies (e.g.; AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
  • Experience with real-time monitoring and alerting (e.g.; Prometheus, ELK Stack, Elasticsearch, Logstash).
  • Extensive experience with Cloud Identity and Access Management (Ping).
  • Functional understanding of cloud networking principles, including firewalls, VPCs, secure gateways and more.
  • Strong experience in designing, developing, and integrating cloud-based APIs to enable seamless communication between cloud services and applications.
  • Proficiency in utilizing API management tools and ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient API interactions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
  • Creative problem-solving with good documentation skills.
    • Dynamic and able to work effectively in a team environment.
