This role will be both a strategic leader and a hands-on builder, establishing the tools, processes, and data foundation needed to support a more data-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence, Reporting & Analytics

  • Establish consistent definitions, KPIs, metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and reporting cadences.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve reporting and self-service analytics tools.
  • Integrate and synthesize syndicated market data, loyalty/consumer data, customer inventory data, and store-level data to provide a comprehensive view of business performance.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and reduce manual, duplicative work.
  • Translate complex data and analysis into clear, actionable insights for commercial and executive audiences.

Consumer Insights & Strategic Learning

  • Partner closely with Consumer Insights to develop and execute a focused, enterprise-wide learning agenda aligned to the company’s strategic priorities.
  • Bring together diverse data sources to answer complex business questions, both planned and ad hoc, as they arise.
  • Collaborate with Consumer Insights, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other functions to frame business questions, identify the right data and analytical approaches, and translate findings into recommendations.
  • Develop analytical approaches that deepen understanding of consumers, customers, channels, products, and market performance.
  • Help ensure the organization moves beyond reporting what happened to understanding why it happened, what it means, and what actions should be taken.

Data Management, Quality & External Partnerships

  • Own the day-to-day relationships with syndicated data providers and other external data partners, including data delivery, access, issue resolution, and vendor performance.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on key syndicated data sources and their appropriate application.
  • Establish data quality controls, validation processes, and governance standards to ensure the accuracy and consistency of business reporting.
  • Develop standards for data definitions, hierarchies, ownership, documentation, and reconciliation.
  • Identify and resolve data integrity issues and establish processes to proactively monitor data quality.
  • Evaluate new data sources and technologies that can strengthen the company’s business intelligence capabilities.

AI & Business Intelligence Innovation

  • Act as the commercial data subject-matter-expert that partners with the organization’s AI lead to develop AI-enabled infrastructure and workflows that enhance reporting, analysis and presentation development. Identify and implement opportunities to use AI to automate recurring reporting, generate business insights, summarize performance, and accelerate the creation of management presentations and business reviews.
  • Establish scalable processes and appropriate governance for incorporating AI into business intelligence workflows.
  • Evaluate emerging analytics and AI technologies and determine where they can create meaningful business value.
  • Assist in development of a roadmap, in partnership with the company’s AI lead, for the continued evolution of the company’s BI and AI capabilities to democratize the company’s data.

Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership and cross functional leaders.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that require the integration of data, technology, and business expertise.
  • Build organizational confidence in data by ensuring information is accessible, consistent, accurate, and actionable.
  • Promote a culture of fact-based, data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
