Job Description

The Director, Corporate Actions is responsible for the daily processing and support of corporate actions within Virtus Shared Services trade operations function. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of corporate action events for Investment Managers utilizing the Virtus Shared Service common operating model. 

Key responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing, and processing corporate actions to ensure timely and accurate execution, mitigating operations risk, and supporting the integrity of investment operations. The Director, Corporate Actions will also collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance workflow efficiency and maintain compliance with industry standards.  

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Corporate Action Processing   Identify, communicate, and process corporate action notices and responses, ensuring timely and accurate execution.

  • Corporate Actions Oversight  Oversee information, communications, and verification of all fixed income corporate action/income events, ensuring processes and procedures are followed.

  • Business Analysis and Process Improvement  Identify solutions for business processes, recommend enhancements, and collaborate with teams to streamline processes and create efficiencies.

  • Discrepancy Resolution Monitor corporate actions with custodian banks and resolve any discrepancies as necessary.

  • Training and Development  Provide training, coaching, and development for new and existing trade operations team members related to corporate action processing.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7 plus years of related experience. 

  • Prior experience with fixed income corporate actions processing at a custodian bank, asset manager, or hedge fund. 

  • Experience in a multi-boutique or large investment management organization is a plus. 

  • Experience in fixed income securities, equities, derivatives, corporate actions, foreign exchange, and trade settlements.  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. 

  • Strong people skills. Demonstrated ability in being flexible and collaborating with stakeholders and colleagues at all experience levels. 

  • Exceptional diligence and proficient documentation skills. 

  • Ability to work independently or in a team. 

  • Works well under pressure and is comfortable with change and complexity. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication and comprehension skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and tasks required.

The salary range is $108,000 to $132,000.

The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan.
