We are seeking a hands-on, technically strong Director, Corporate Controller to own corporate accounting across Alfred Club, Inc., Arqline, and their holding entities. Reporting to Alfred’s COO, this role leads the multi-entity close and consolidation, annual audits, tax, and debt and lender reporting. You will lead a lean corporate accounting team and partner closely with Treasury, FP&A, and Property Accounting.
How you’ll contribute to #OneTeam
Close & Consolidation
- Own the monthly corporate close across all entities, targeting completion by the 10th calendar day.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, including intercompany and investment eliminations.
- Review adjusted EBITDA and one-time adjustments used in management and lender reporting.
- Oversee complex recurring accounting such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), purchase accounting (ASC 805) and goodwill and intangible assets (ASC 350), and debt and interest accounting (ASC 470/835).
Audit & External Reporting
- Lead annual external audits for Alfred Club and the property management company, from planning and PBC coordination through financial statement preparation.
- Meet audit and reporting deadlines required under the company’s credit agreement.
- Support monthly and quarterly lender compliance packages and covenant reporting.
Tax
- Manage the outside tax advisor relationship for federal and state income tax filings and monthly sales tax compliance.
- Monitor multi-state sales tax nexus and lead nexus refreshes or voluntary disclosure (VDA) work as the business grows.
Treasury, Payments & Controls
- Prepare and review cash movements, intercompany funding, debt service, and distributions in partnership with Treasury, which holds final cash authorization.
- Maintain the approval matrix, segregation of duties, and system access controls across banking, Ramp, and NetSuite.
- Review property management agreements (PMAs) for billing, reimbursement, and accounting implications.
Team & Systems
- Lead and develop the corporate accounting team, including an Assistant Corporate Controller, Accounting Manager, and staff-level accountants.
- Serve as business owner of NetSuite and corporate close tools; drive automation and documented SOPs so no process depends on a single person.
- Support the finance team on financing, diligence, and other strategic initiatives as needed.
Who you are
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years at the Controller or Assistant Controller level.
- CPA required; public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) background strongly preferred.
- Deep experience with multi-entity consolidation, intercompany accounting, and audit leadership.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including business combinations, stock-based compensation, debt and interest accounting, and other complex or non-routine transactions.
- Experience with credit agreement reporting in a lender- or PE-backed company.
- NetSuite experience strongly preferred; Carta and Ramp a plus.
- Real estate, property management, or proptech experience a plus, not required.
- Hands-on, comfortable in a lean, fast-moving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
