Role SummaryAs Director of Business Development, you will be a key driver of Compass’s growth strategy — identifying, structuring, and closing high-value ASC joint ventures. You’ll build trusted relationships with physicians and health system executives, manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, and advance strategic expansion into new markets. This role blends strategic relationship-building, market analysis, and deal execution — all grounded in Compass’s mission to create exceptional surgical partnerships that elevate care and performance.
What You’ll DoBuild and Manage a High-Value Pipeline
Maintain consistent engagement with physician groups, health systems, and other potential partners
Generate and progress a steady pipeline of ASC opportunities through frequent outreach, in-person visits, and strategic follow-up
Drive momentum from initial contact through signed agreements, ensuring an efficient and thoughtful process.
Cultivate Strong Physician and Partner Relationships
Build trust with key physicians, driving strong syndication rates and long-term collaboration
Deliver compelling, tailored presentations that communicate Compass’s value proposition and partnership model
Maintain regular touchpoints to ensure alignment, satisfaction, and sustained engagement
Lead Market Expansion and Development
Identify and prioritize high-opportunity regions through data-driven market analysis
Drive entry into new markets annually by building local relationships and visibility
Strengthen Compass’s presence as the partner of choice for health systems and physicians
Optimize Deal Structuring and Execution
Structure and negotiate joint venture agreements that meet Compass’s financial and strategic objectives
Collaborate with internal finance, operations, and legal teams to ensure deals are sound, compliant, and aligned with long-term goals
Manage progression from lead to close, maintaining visibility into timelines and outcomes
Collaborate Cross-Functionally
Partner closely with internal teams to ensure seamless hand-offs from business development through implementation
Provide consistent updates on pipeline activity, progress, and market trends
Align efforts with company-wide growth and partnership objectives
7–10 years of experience in business development, ideally within healthcare or the ASC sector
Proven success in structuring and closing complex joint ventures with physicians and health systems
Strong understanding of ASC operations, financial modeling, and deal economics
Demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships and influence senior stakeholders
Expertise in market analysis and strategic expansion planning
Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable navigating a fast-moving, growth-stage environment
Private equity exposure and an established healthcare industry network preferred
