About RightMove

RightMove is redefining how value-based musculoskeletal (MSK) care is delivered. Built in partnership with the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), we’re creating a new standard of coordinated, expert-led care that gets people moving better and faster.

We partner with PCPs, Orthopedic specialists, and health plans to deliver high-value, patient-centered MSK care. Our value-based care model includes patient engagement, virtual physical therapy, and care navigation to high-value imaging and specialty partners.

Our Mission & Values

We’re a high-performing team driven by one mission: to free people to move and thrive.  At RightMove, we move fast, collaborate deeply, and deliver with precision. We’re a startup with enterprise-grade rigor—where talented operators, engineers and clinicians challenge conventions to improve patient outcomes.

We live our values every day:

  • Perform to Win – We bring our best to deliver measurable results, valuing impact over optics.
  • Be Direct with Respect – We communicate clearly, with honesty and care.
  • Move as One Team – We win together, across roles and functions.
  • Act with Agency – Our teams have high trust and high accountability, with the freedom to own and responsibility to deliver.
  • Choose Optimism – We bring energy and perspective, even when the work is hard.

About the Role

RightMove Health is seeking a Director of Data & Analytics to own our analytical function as we scale into launch and beyond. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes data and turns it into decisions — for our payer partners, our clinical teams, and our leadership.

The ideal candidate has deep healthcare analytics experience, is technically strong, and has built analytical capabilities from the ground up — not inherited them from a large enterprise. We are not looking for someone who has overseen analytics at a big payer or health system without doing the work themselves. We are looking for a builder who knows how to get to the “so what” and communicate it clearly to payers, partners, and internal leaders.

What You'll Do

Data Modeling & Analytics Infrastructure

  • Own and develop RightMove's core analytical data models using dbt, working on our Snowflake environment in close partnership with data engineering
  • Build scalable, well-documented transformation layers that sit on top of ingested claims, eligibility, referral, and engagement data
  • Work with Tuva Health frameworks where applicable to accelerate claims normalization and quality
  • Define and maintain data standards, documentation, and methodology that support both internal use and external reporting

Claims Analytics & MSK Model Development

  • Lead development and refinement of RightMove's MSK condition and procedure data model — cohort definitions, inclusion/exclusion logic, episode construction
  • Analyze cost and utilization trends by condition, geography, provider type, and site of care
  • Evaluate patient care journeys and referral pathways to identify variation and opportunities for earlier intervention
  • Develop payer-ready methodology documentation that clearly describes how we define populations, attribute cost, and measure impact

Savings Model Development

  • Lead refinement of RightMove's clinical savings models estimating the financial impact of RightMove's programs and care pathways
  • Build population-level cost and utilization models that support PMPM savings projections, intervention impact estimates, and value-based care contracting discussions
  • Partner with clinical leadership and our actuarial partner to validate assumptions and ensure models reflect real-world care patterns

Reporting & Insights

  • Build dashboards and reporting tools using modern BI tools (e.g.Sigma or LightDash) that support internal decision-making and customer reporting
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives for payer partners, business leaders, and clinicians
  • Be the person in the room who can answer “so what does this mean for us?” with clarity and confidence

ML & Advanced Analytics

  • Apply ML techniques where they create real value (e.g. risk stratification, population segmentation, intervention targeting)
  • Build and validate predictive models using Python in partnership with engineering
  • While this is not a pure ML role, you are comfortable with the tools and know when and how to use them

Must-Haves

  • 8+ years in healthcare analytics, payer analytics, or health services research — with a track record of building, not managing
  • Hands-on experience with dbt and Snowflake — you have built and maintained production analytical models yourself
  • Deep experience with medical and pharmacy claims data — ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, episode-based analysis is second nature to you
  • Experience building savings models, value-based care analytics, or actuarial analyses
  • Strong SQL and Python — table stakes
  • Experience in an early-stage or growth-stage environment where you built the capability, not inherited it
  • Ability to translate complex analyses into clear narratives for non-technical audiences including payer partners and executive leadership

This role is probably not for you if:

  • Your experience is primarily at large payers or health systems where you oversaw analytics teams but didn't build or configure the underlying systems yourself
  • You need a fully built data infrastructure to do your best work
  • You prefer to direct analytical work rather than do it yourself

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Fivetran or similar ELT tooling
  • Experience with MSK care, orthopedic analytics, or specialty condition management
  • Familiarity with value-based care arrangements or risk-based contracts
  • Experience with benchmark datasets such as Marketscan or LDS
  • Experience with modern BI tools (Sigma, LightDash)
  • Experience presenting to payer partners or external stakeholders
