TITLE: Director, Data Operations
LOCATION: New York City (hybrid) or Fully Remote in the United States
SALARY: $160,000 - $200,000 (based on NYC, will be adjusted for geo)
The Role:
As the leader of our Canoe Data Operations Team, the Director, Data Operations will own client outcomes related to the accuracy and timely delivery of data, processes and Managed Services. Accuracy and flawless execution of the Canoe processes is of the highest of priority. You will also work closely with Product and Client Operations leadership to improve automation where possible and to ensure the security of the data.
What You'll Do:
  • Strategy: Build and own the capacity and headcount models of all Data Operations Services.
  • Deliver Excellent Client Experience: Partner with the Implementation and Relationship Management teams on client communications, attending virtual and in-person client meetings
  • Own Quality: Set up measurement standards to have high fidelity quality reporting. Take charge of ensuring the highest standard of output for the data operations teams
  • Review Operational Processes: Across all practice areas, approve best practice designs, ensure the accuracy of designs and artifacts, and formulate action plans to mature operations
  • Advocate for Operations and Data Standards: Champion best practices in routine processes, perform quality checks and drive the standard across the practice areas to ensure a culture of excellence and consistency
  • Derive Insights: Performs analysis on data trends to identify root causes of problems and enable effective resolutions. Partner with Technology teammates to design tech-enabled solutions
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifies technology and process improvements to efficiently and effectively process data
  • Develop New Offerings: Understand trends in client demands, package services for broader consumption, and work with Commercial teammates on go-to-market strategies to offer to customers
  • Determine contract improvements and work with Canoe leaders to negotiate.

What We're Looking For:
  • Private Markets data domain expertise
  • Analyst at heart - high degree of comfort with financial statement and data analysis
  • Strategic thinker that strives for quality, efficiency and customer outcomes
  • Proven experience in leading service delivery at a Director or above level
  • Proven experience leading offshore teams
  • Prior people management experience
  • Proven experience working on complex projects within a fast-paced software development environment
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and exceptional organizational skills
  • Deadline-oriented and a proven ability to self-manage in a remote / hybrid work setting
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience refining operating processes and planning product development
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and uncovering answers to complex product development questions
