With Arketa, users can easily manage schedules, accept bookings and payments, build on-demand video libraries, host retreats, and run marketing campaigns via text and email. We also offer fully branded apps and websites, so studios can deliver a seamless, professional experience across every customer touchpoint.

The Role: 

We’re looking for a Director of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering team as we enter our next stage of growth. You’ll play a critical role in building systems that power thousands of wellness businesses globally. This is a leadership role for someone who is deeply technical, people-first, and excited to roll up their sleeves.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and mentor a team of high-performing engineers across our Core and CRM teams

• Collaborate with product, design, and go-to-market teams to ship high-impact features that directly drive customer value

• Own technical strategy and execution—from system architecture and infrastructure to delivery processes and quality

• Scale engineering practices, including hiring, performance management, and culture-building

• Champion fast, maintainable code and a bias toward shipping

• Set and uphold a high bar for engineering excellence and operational efficiency

What We’re Looking For:

• 8+ years of experience as an engineer, with 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams

• Experience building and scaling customer-facing web applications (ideally in TypeScript, Node.js, React, Firestore/MongoDB)

• Strong technical judgment and a proven ability to make architecture and prioritization tradeoffs

• A builder’s mindset—you care about velocity, product quality, and enabling your team to move fast

• Excellent communicator who thrives in a cross-functional, fast-paced startup environment

• Passion for wellness, startups, or empowering small business owners is a plus

For this role, the estimated annual base salary range is $200,000–$260,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, we offer equity and performance-based bonuses as part of our total compensation package. We believe in compensating fairly and transparently, and we’re happy to provide more detail during the interview process.
