We are seeking a Director, Enterprise AI Operations to lead the design and execution of AI operations across Forbes.

This is an internal-facing role focused on transforming how teams operate, not building external AI products. This is not a traditional product role, and it is not an AI experimentation role. We are not looking to explore AI. We are looking to operationalize it across the company.

This role is for a leader who has successfully driven operational transformation at scale and knows how to move organizations from ideas to adoption, and from tools to sustained behavioral change. Working closely with executive leadership, this person will help execute Forbes’s enterprise AI enablement & operational strategy by embedding AI into the core workflows that power Editorial, Audience, Revenue, and internal operations.

You will be responsible for operationalizing a focused set of high-impact initiatives that integrate AI into day-to-day workflows and drive measurable business outcomes. Success in this role is not defined by experimentation or feature delivery, but by adoption, operational efficiency, improved decision-making, and measurable organizational impact.

This role will partner cross-functionally across Product, Technology, Editorial, Revenue, Audience, Legal, HR, and Operations to ensure AI becomes a sustainable operating layer across the business. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on execution, enablement, governance, and organizational transformation.

Responsibilities

AI Operations & Execution
  • Execute and operationalize Forbes’s internal AI roadmap in partnership with executive leadership.
  • Drive implementation of a focused set of high-impact AI initiatives that materially improve workflows and business outcomes.
  • Translate strategic priorities into scalable operational programs, processes, and execution plans.
  • Ensure AI capabilities are embedded into existing workflows and systems rather than operating as parallel or optional tools.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to support the successful deployment and integration of AI capabilities across the organization.
Cross-Functional Enablement & Change Management
  • Lead enterprise-wide AI adoption efforts across Editorial, Audience Development, Consumer Revenue, Advertising, and corporate functions.
  • Build and scale repeatable enablement systems, training programs, and operational playbooks that drive sustained behavioral change.
  • Own change management processes end-to-end, proactively identifying resistance points, gathering feedback, and partnering with department leaders to improve adoption.
  • Build and manage an internal AI community of practice to share knowledge, best practices, and workflow innovations across teams.
  • Partner with HR and organizational leadership to support workforce readiness and AI literacy initiatives.
Governance & Operational Discipline
  • Support AI governance efforts in partnership with Product, Legal, Editorial Standards, Security, and Privacy teams.
  • Help establish operational standards and processes for responsible AI usage, including sourcing, attribution, disclosure, and approved use cases.
  • Assist in rationalizing Forbes’s AI tooling ecosystem by evaluating usage, overlap, adoption, and business value.
  • Partner with leadership on vendor evaluations, implementation planning, and operational rollout of AI tools and platforms.
  • Monitor operational and reputational risks associated with AI adoption and escalate concerns proactively.
Measurement & Business Impact
  • Build and maintain operational reporting frameworks and dashboards that track AI adoption, workflow efficiency, time savings, output quality, and business impact.
  • Define and measure success based on organizational adoption and measurable operational outcomes.
  • Partner with leadership to assess ROI and effectiveness of AI initiatives across teams and workflows.
  • Support budget and vendor management processes with a focus on operational efficiency and measurable value creation.
Communication & Leadership
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders regarding initiative progress, adoption metrics, operational challenges, and business impact.
  • Serve as the operational lead for enterprise AI transformation initiatives across the company.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on execution, enablement, and operational excellence.
  • Foster strong cross-functional alignment while maintaining focus on organizational outcomes and execution discipline.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 8–12+ years of experience in transformation, operations, product, platform, or program leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in building and scaling AI operations functions or enterprise operational programs that changed how teams work.
  • Strong change management experience, including driving adoption across large, diverse, and sometimes resistant organizations.
  • Experience defining and managing operational standards, workflows, and governance frameworks at scale.
  • Experience executing complex cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, high-visibility environments with evolving priorities.
  • Strong operational and execution instincts, with the ability to translate strategic direction into scalable implementation plans.
  • Experience building or scaling internal systems, workflows, enablement programs, or operational platforms.
  • Exceptional organizational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI/LLMs to operational workflows, with sharp instincts for where they create value and where they don't.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience measuring operational impact and adoption outcomes.
  • Fluency in translating complex initiatives into clear operational direction and organizational alignment.
  • Comfortable serving as a force multiplier for executive leadership by helping operationalize and scale strategic initiatives across the organization.
Nice to Have
  • Background in consulting, internal strategy, change management, or operational excellence functions within scaled organizations.
  • Experience in digital media, publishing, or content-driven businesses.
  • Experience leading enterprise workflow or large-scale operational transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with personalization systems, content operations, or audience growth mechanics.
  • Experience operationalizing AI platforms such as OpenAI, Vertex AI, or similar.
  • Experience partnering with Legal, Privacy, Security, or Compliance teams on technology initiatives.
  • Experience managing or rationalizing complex SaaS or AI tooling environments.

The annual base salary range for this role is $180,000 - $195,000
