Responsibilities

  • Manage cash, runway, and working capital, with close attention to supplier payment terms, landed cost, and duties and tariffs.

  • Partner with vehicle operations on inventory planning, purchasing, and cost tracking, owning the financial view of stock, landed cost, and supplier terms.

  • Oversee accounting and the monthly close, whether in-house or through an outside firm, and own audit, tax, and sales tax compliance.

  • Support equity and debt fundraising by building models, preparing investor materials, maintaining the data room, and running diligence.

  • Put systems and processes in place that hold up as we grow, without adding overhead the company doesn't need.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hardware, consumer products, automotive, or another business with physical inventory and overseas manufacturing.

  • Strong financial modeling skills and a working command of accounting, including GAAP, the monthly close, and audit.

  • Direct experience on an equity or debt raise, from model to diligence to close.

  • Comfort managing outside counsel, accountants, and advisors, and judgment about when to bring them in.

  • Working knowledge of HR operations, payroll, and benefits at a small company.

  • Clear writing and the ability to explain numbers to people outside finance.

  • Comfortable taking ownership, making decisions, and solving problems independently in a fast-moving environment.
