The Position

The Director of FP&A at Crunchafi is a key financial partner for the CFO and Executive Leadership Team. You will have a unique opportunity to help build the function alongside the CFO and interface daily in strategic cross-functional and M&A conversations with C- Suite and Board Members of a fast-growing Rule of 50 company. You will be responsible for supporting our consolidated budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting functions, leading the financial planning and analysis processes, and conducting cross-functional analytics on the entire P&L. In addition, this person will provide broad decision support analytics to assist operators, drive constructive and engaging conversations, monitor stakeholder feedback, and identify trends and opportunities to advance Crunchafi’s overall business and financial strategy.


You have concrete experience in three key areas for unlocking and maximizing enterprise value:

  1. Accurate and robust financial, operational, and lender reporting
  2. Robust analysis to drive data driven decisions that unlock growth levers for the business
  3. Robust planning and forecasting that steers the business to achievable outcomes


This candidate should have excellent work ethic and attention to detail, be able to operate independently and with limited direction and possess great interpersonal andcommunication skills. The work you prepare is Board-ready; you have ticked and tied all the numbers, and you are confident enough to present it to Management and the Board of Directors if asked. A team-oriented and hands-on work style is a must! We’re looking for a smart and ambitious self-starter who is passionate about building a forward-thinking Strategic Finance unit and changing the game in accounting and financial intelligence.


What You’ll Do:

  • Budgeting/Forecasting: Proven track record of building robust, dynamic, and achievable budgets and forecasts, ideally in PE software companies, in $10-100m revenue range growing through M&A.
    • Build robust, dynamic, and achievable budgets and forecasts, including customer and product level recurring revenue waterfall model
    • Build and maintain a 3–5-year planning model for Crunchafi
    • Implement agile rolling forecasts
    • Set financial and operational targets for operators
    • Partner with operators across all business units to build plans and ensure that business units are driving towards planned objectives
    • Efficiently re-budget for acquired businesses, ensuring assimilation into board approved plan
    • Support M&A efforts to build detailed pro forma acquisition models, identify and track synergies across the deal life cycle and partner with Delivery, GTM and Business Operations engines to develop financial and analytical model measuring Crunchafi’s success at achieving desired acquisition EBITDA
  • Financial Reporting: Proven track record of delivering dynamic financial reporting that meets the needs of Management and Board in PE software companies running a Rule of 40+ business
    • Set weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cadences
    • Run point on Management and Board Presentations
    • Build dynamic metrics dashboards and support Standard Operating Objectives/Defining Objectives across all business units
    • Run point on ad hoc reporting requests from private equity owners, lenders, shareholders and/or other investors
    • Identify reporting segments for each business unit, function, or product
    • Owner of all budget to actual reporting
    • Efficiently incorporate acquired businesses into reporting structure and cadence
    • Pro-forma and one-time cost tracking
    • CapSW and Cash EBITDA tracking
  • Analysis: Proven track record of driving data driven decisions through accurate and robust analysis
    •  Identify trends in the business
    • Analyze customer data to better understand commercial trends and retention
    • Become entrenched in the components of ARR (New business, cross-sell, upsell, price, churn, downsell) to drive analysis and business decisions
    • Create, implement and oversee ROI models and OKRs for key strategic initiatives to provide visibility and accountability to ensure resources (financial and people) are prioritized and directed appropriately
  • Company Leader: Proven track record of earning confidence of Leadership Team, key operators, and board members consistently demonstrating a combination of strategic mindfulness, disciplined execution, delivery of results, and clear, timely communication/engagement on key areas of responsibility
    • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and scalability of financial operations.


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of financial analysis experience with 2-5 years of progressive financial leadership
  • Strong executive presence and be comfortable and credible interfacing within executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and private-equity investors
  • In-depth working knowledge of the principles of financial statements, financial modeling, and ratio and trend analysis
  • Experience in calculating and forecasting Pro Forma EBITDA
  • Experience with acquisition modeling and synergy identification / delivery tracking
  • Very advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint
  • Comfortable in a fluid, high-growth environment and can effectively cope with change, shifting gears when needed to achieve results
  • Must be operationally oriented with a keen focus on process, metrics, and results
  • Action-oriented and full of energy for the things you see as challenging
  • Have a whatever it takes mindset - that no project is too big or too small
  • Excellent analytical, research, organizational and planning skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and decision-making skills
  • Experience working in investment banking and/or a PE-backed environment a plus
  • Experience working with and delivering meaningful insights from large data sets and complex integrations across SaaS platforms (i.e. NetSuite, Zone Billing, HubSpot or Salesforce) a plus
