Director of Franchise Sales & Development

Location: Carmel, Indiana

Reports To: VP, Franchising

Byrider is the nation’s largest automotive and finance franchise, delivering industry-leading returns for franchisees through a proven Buy Here Pay Here model that has stood the test of time for more than three decades. We’re expanding — and we’re looking for a proven franchise development leader to own the franchise growth funnel and partner directly with our VP of Franchising to drive national expansion.

This is not a typical sales job. You will be closing $1M+ franchise investments with high-net-worth individuals, privately held companies, seasoned operators, and investor groups looking for a proven business model in the automotive sector. If you thrive in long-cycle, relationship-based sales and want to help build the strategy while executing the deals, this role is your opportunity to make a direct impact on the future of our brand.

Position Summary:

The Director of Franchise Sales & Development is a results-oriented, hands-on professional responsible for owning the entire franchise growth funnel—from prospecting to signed agreements. This role focuses on identifying, attracting, and closing high-quality franchise partners, particularly high-net-worth individuals and experienced operators. The Director partners closely with the VP of Franchising to shape and execute the growth strategy while leading the day-to-day sales effort, managing the pipeline, and coordinating across departments to ensure new franchise success.

The ideal candidate thrives in a consultative sales environment, brings strong B2B or franchise development experience, and is comfortable speaking with sophisticated investors about long-term business opportunities.

The Byrider Advantage:

  • Base salary commensurate with experience
  • Excellent incentive plan
  • Great benefits & paid time off
  • Established company in business 36 years
  • Successful company with locations in 24 states
  • Newly remodeled corporate office
  • Hybrid work schedule
  • Great culture

Key Responsibilities:

  • Franchise Sales Strategy: Partner with the VP of Franchising to develop and refine franchise growth strategies, shaping messaging, campaigns, and lead quality initiatives to drive sustainable, long-term growth.
  • Franchise Sales Execution: Lead the full franchise sales lifecycle including outreach, lead nurturing, qualification, financial vetting, presentations, FDD review, and deal closing.
  • Lead Generation: Identify and pursue high-quality leads through outbound efforts, industry networks, franchise portals, digital platforms, and strategic partnerships.
  • Pipeline Management: Build, maintain and manage an accurate sales pipeline through CRM; regularly update leadership on lead activity, conversion rates, and revenue projections.
  • Prospect Engagement: Present the Byrider opportunity to prospective franchisees with clarity and credibility, ensuring strong alignment between candidate profiles and the brand.
  • Market Expansion: Collaborate with leadership to assess whitespace and define target markets for franchise development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with legal, operations, training, and marketing to ensure seamless onboarding and handoffs.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Deliver weekly reporting on sales metrics, lead activity, and short-term forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in franchise development, B2B sales, or business development—automotive, franchising, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to close high-value, long-cycle deals (preferably $1,000,000+).
  • Track record of building trust with high-net-worth individuals, investor groups, or multi-unit operators.
  • Strong knowledge of the franchise sales process, including FDD disclosure and territory planning.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills.
  • Polished communicator, capable of presenting to executives and entrepreneurs.
  • CRM proficiency and data-driven approach to sales management.
  • Proficiency with LinkedIn and other related social networking platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 25–50% as needed.

Key Competencies:

  • Sales Execution: Confident closer with strategic thinking behind every deal.
  • Investor Alignment: Can speak to financial models, capital requirements, and business ownership expectations.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Works well with leadership to refine and execute development plans.
  • Market Insight: Understands how to identify growth markets and tailor messaging to different buyer profiles.
  • Professionalism: High emotional intelligence and presence when dealing with financially sophisticated buyers.
