A Brief Overview
The Director manages all aspects of middle market private equity fund investments for the PD&E group, including oversight of LP fund commitments, and provides support for co-investments and GP-led secondaries. They manage relationships with existing and potential Partner Managers, drive portfolio diversification, and optimize risk-adjusted returns through disciplined LP investment strategies. The Director also collaborates with the PD&E direct investment team to source debt and equity opportunities.
What you will do
Investment Sourcing and Evaluation
- The Director builds and maintains a pipeline of institutional-quality fund managers, targeting new relationships annually. They lead due diligence processes for potential investments and conduct market research to analyze investment data.
Financial Analysis
- The Director monitors investment performance and tiers managers, tracks portfolio returns and risk metrics and assesses compliance with investment objectives. Managers are tiered by performance, reporting quality, and operational excellence, which informs allocation and engagement decisions. The Director also leads modeling and analysis of primary fund and secondary transactions, projects cash flows for LP investments, and performs valuation analysis of portfolio companies.
Legal and Compliance
- The Director stays updated on legal fund terms, negotiates fund documents and side letters, and manages the legal review of investment opportunities. They ensure adherence to internal investment policies, ILPA standards, and regulatory requirements.
Relationship Management
- The Director represents RGA at annual and advisory board meetings, facilitates introductions between Partner Managers and the direct investment team, monitors investment managers and fund investments, and analyzes and responds to Partner Manager correspondence.
Leadership and Presentation
- The Director presents investment recommendations to the Investment Committee, develops materials for executive audiences, and provides guidance and mentorship to junior team members on all aspects of fund investments.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7+ years of experience in private equity-related industry
- Experience managing or mentoring team members.
Skills and Abilities
Required:
- Advanced skills in financial modeling and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and task prioritization.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation Range:
$175,650.00 - $261,600.00 AnnualBase pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
