As Director of Patient Growth Marketing, you will lead product marketing teams, define strategies, launch products, and build brand engagement while collaborating across various departments to optimize customer experiences and drive business impact.

Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2025 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About the role

Flex has grown our core flexible rent consumer product/business by distributing it through our rapidly expanding network of property management company partners. This core business is growing extremely fast, and we’re ready to take our next swing. Specifically, as we enter the next chapter of our growth, we are hiring a strategic and creative leader to build and lead a direct-to-consumer marketing strategy focused on growing adoption with the renter segment living outside of our property network. Reporting directly to our Out-of-Network Business Lead, you will own and scale new paid media efforts, including search, social, and SEO/SEM, while also overseeing branding and marketing collateral design. You will also help build our first B2C2B referral program to further business expansion.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong analytical expertise, deep performance marketing knowledge, and hands-on budget management. You will work cross-functionally with product, sales, and analytics to develop and execute full-funnel marketing strategies that drive high-quality lead generation and optimize cost per acquisition.

This role is available to candidates in either the NYC Metro Area (hybrid, with on-site expectations of 3 days per week at our New York headquarters) or the San Francisco Bay Area (remote to start). Candidates relocating to the NYC or SF area may be eligible for relocation assistance.

What you’ll do

You will serve as the primary owner of new growth channels supporting our Renter Direct (DTC) strategy. In this capacity, you will:

  • Develop new marketing channels and strategies to support growth of our out-of-network (OON) user segment
  • Define the foundation for DTC marketing at Flex, including audience segmentation and targeting, messaging, and infrastructure required to support these growth efforts
  • Move fast to stand up and optimize paid search and social campaigns, continuously testing creatives, messaging, and audience targeting to improve performance
  • Own and manage SEM strategy across Google Ads, pMAX, and other search products, ensuring efficient cost per MQL and maximum ROAS, as well as SEO
  • Partner with our product team to build and execute referral programs and campaigns to drive high-quality leads on both the consumer and partner side
  • Lead budget planning, forecasting, and spend allocation to maximize efficiency while driving scalable customer acquisition
  • Define and track key performance metrics, leveraging analytics tools like Amplitude, Singular and Sigma to make data-driven marketing decisions
Key qualifications
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, or lead generation, with at least 2+ years of management experience
  • Proven track record of building and scaling growth marketing in a high-growth D2C business, ideally in the fintech space
  • Expertise in performance marketing and lead generation across multiple digital channels, including paid search, social and affiliate marketing
  • Experience building referral or lifecycle marketing campaigns
  • Deep analytical mindset with experience managing marketing budgets and forecasts, optimizing for ROI and A/B testing to drive better engagement and conversion
  • High attention to detail, including precise and effective communication with senior stakeholders
  • Eager to wear multiple hats as a “doer” who will do what is required to scale customer growth efficiently and rapidly without a full team on day 1
  • Desire for fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.

  • For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $200,000-$211,000.
