Director, Insights & Analytics

The Director is accountable for developing and communicating actionable insights that shape brand strategy and tactics by leveraging a range of primary and secondary market research techniques. The role will partner with all functions supporting the U.S. and global launch, including Marketing, Managed Markets, Medical, Operations, and Finance, as well as NAP’s global partner, to provide key insights that enable insight-driven decisions. The role will report to the Senior Director, Insights & Analytics.


The position is responsible for building and managing a comprehensive insights-generation plan to address the key business questions facing the brand team. This plan will include primary and secondary market research across various stakeholders, data analysis, tracking, and reporting.


The Director will also be expected to advise and partner with various levels of management in support of products and corporate initiatives. The role therefore requires a high degree of business acumen, strong collaboration and interdependent partnering skills, and the ability to work independently in support of company priorities. Experience in a product launch or retail market is a plus.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Leads and manages strategy-driven qualitative and quantitative market research projects in accordance with internal compliance policies and best practices. Responsible for ensuring that interpretation of primary market research and data analytics is generating meaningful, actionable and differentiating insights.
  • Build an in-depth understanding of the brand/molecule/therapeutic area and consolidate insights from primary market research, forecasting, analytics, and competitive intelligence into insights and recommendations.
  • Develops and provides analysis to support strategic product planning, including situational analysis for each brand and the market research necessary to develop and test each product’s positioning, promotional concepts, and messaging.
  • Keeps abreast of market developments and competitors.
  • Proactively seeks out and evaluates new data sources, tools, and research partners that can enhance customer insights and ability to improve overall effectiveness of the marketing plan.
  • Manages third-party vendors and creates insightful reports and presentations that clearly and succinctly highlight actionable insights, business implications, and strategic and tactical options.
  • Manages the budget for primary research and syndicated studies.
  • This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of strategic topics critical to our business. The Director will support the business through proactive thought leadership, innovative analytical capabilities, and the ability to communicate highly complex and dynamic information in new and creative ways.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical/health care industry experience, including 8 years of primary market research experience
  • Experience conducting a range of research techniques; recognized subject-matter expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Recognized expertise in connecting, integrating, and synthesizing analysis and data into a meaningful “so what” that drives concrete strategic recommendations and enables commercial decision-making
  • Strong business and marketing acumen, with demonstrated ability to synthesize insights from a variety of sources and develop strategic guidance for brand teams that results in business decisions or actions
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates a scrappy, resourceful approach to solving complex business problems, including the ability to identify practical solutions, remove barriers, and make progress with imperfect information or limited resources
  • Operates with flexibility and agility, adapting quickly to changing business priorities, evolving launch needs, stakeholder input, and market dynamics while maintaining focus on business outcomes
  • Builds highly effective cross-functional partnerships by influencing without authority, creating alignment across stakeholders, and ensuring insights are translated into clear decisions and action
  • Communicates with transparency and sound judgment, proactively surfacing risks, tradeoffs, assumptions, and recommendations in a way that enables leadership alignment and confident decision-making
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment by balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, taking ownership of priorities, and helping foster a collaborative, high-accountability team culture
  • Strategic and analytical mindset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to conduct complex analyses, synthesize findings, and translate data into clear, concise, and actionable insights tailored for audiences at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using artificial intelligence tools to accelerate research and analysis, synthesize complex information, and generate actionable insights, with sound judgment regarding accuracy, confidentiality, compliance, and responsible use
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • NAP has adopted an on-demand workplace philosophy. This remote role requires periodic in-person attendance at NAP’s Philadelphia-area office based on business needs, with increased frequency during commercial launch planning and launch-related activities. Candidates residing in the Northeastern United States are preferred.
  • Travel is required based on business needs, including attendance at internal meetings and key company and/or industry events.
