About Lawhive

Our mission is to make the law accessible to everyone.

The legal industry is built on technology and processes that haven’t been updated in hundreds of years - that's why we've reinvented the entire model from the ground up with our own bespoke AI operating system at the core.

Lawhive is a regulated law firm with an AI-native platform built to amplify expertise and revolutionise the way people practice law, leading to exceptional outcomes for clients and lawyers.

Lawhive Labs is how we bring this vision to life. It's our frontier lab that combines top engineering, design, AI and legal talent from around the world, joining forces to build the future of law.

We’re backed by top-tier investors, including Google Ventures, Balderton Capital and TQ Ventures, and in December 2024, we secured a $40M Series A funding round to facilitate international expansion and to grow our team, representing one of the five largest Series A rounds in Europe for 2024.

We’re headquartered in London and in 2025 successfully launched in the US…and we’re just getting started.

The Role

As Lawhive’s Director of M&A, you’ll define, lead and execute the strategy behind our US M&A efforts. Overseeing our Senior Analyst, you’ll have ownership over the full deal cycle, from market mapping to deal execution as we scale our operations through law firm acquisitions. You’ll act as a key operational partner to our C-Suite team, arming them with clear and actionable insights to enable leadership to move quickly and confidently.

This is a highly strategic role that will directly influence how we scale and grow our US operations, perfect for someone excited about 0-1 building and who thrives in entrepreneurial environments.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and refine our US M&A strategy, including market segmentation, and pipeline development

  • Own end-to-end buy-side M&A execution, including:

    • Target identification and deal sourcing

    • Financial and operational diligence

    • Deal structuring and negotiation

  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline of law firm acquisition opportunities across priority markets

  • Lead communications and relationship-building with founders, law firm partners, brokers, and other key stakeholders

  • Oversee financial modelling completed by our Senior Analyst (3 Statement, LBO, DCF, etc.)

  • Represent the company externally in conversations with owners, advisors, and industry networks

What You'll Bring
  • 6–8+ years of buy-side M&A experience in corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or similar

  • Demonstrated experience owning full-cycle transactions from sourcing to close

  • Strong track record working directly with senior stakeholders, founders, and/or business owners

  • Experience with MSO roll-up style acquisitions, ideally within legal services

  • Highly skilled in financial modelling, valuation, and deal analysis

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

  • Strong strategic thinking paired with willingness to execute hands-on work

  • Entrepreneurial mindset — thrives in ambiguity, builds process where needed, and moves fast

Interview Process
  • Introductory call with our Talent team

  • 1:1 with the CEO & Co-Founder

  • Culture interview with our Head of AI & Co-Founder and our MD for the US

  • Final presentation with our Co-Founders and VP of Finance

  • We offer!

Benefits
  • 🩺 Healthcare benefits: 'Premium' plan with 100% employee cover and 50% dependent cover

  • ✈️ Vacation: 20 days + 11 Federal holidays + 1 day of Birthday leave

  • 💰 401(k): Matching contribution up to 2% of salary

  • 💰 Equity: Options in Lawhive LTD

Diversity at Lawhive
