  • This is a hybrid role working, Monday - Thursday in our NYC office & Fridays working from home. All days are 9am-6pm.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly hands-on Director, Marketing to lead marketing across our wholesale retail partners while also owning and building our growing direct-to-consumer business. You will be responsible for bringing our brands to life across multiple retail environments, with a focus on online marketing, while serving as the owner and decision maker for the Beautyspace.com customer experience and marketing strategy.

This is not a role that sits above the work. Approximately 70% of the role is hands-on execution and 30% strategic planning.

You will manage two direct reports — a Retailer Partners Associate and a Brand Partners Coordinator — while working closely with our parent company's resources across social media, creative and asset development, visual merchandising, and analytics.

Responsibilities:

Wholesale & Retailer Marketing

  • Develop and execute marketing programs that support our wholesale retail partners and drive omni channel brand and category growth, with a focus on digital marketing
  • Serve as the marketing lead across key retail accounts, translating retailer priorities into actionable marketing plans
  • Partner with Buying and Business Development to identify opportunities to improve omni channel brand visibility, customer engagement, and sell-through
  • Manage retailer-specific online marketing calendars, launches, promotions, events activations, and seasonal programs, coordinating with retailers and internal account managers
  • Ensure brands are represented consistently and effectively across retail environments
  • Coordinate with retailers and internal teams on assets, content, promotions, events, VM, and other marketing requirements
  • Track performance and use sales and customer insights to optimize programs
  • Balance the needs of multiple brands and retail partners while maintaining a clear commercial point of view

Direct-to-Consumer / Beautyspace.com

  • Own Beautyspace.com as the marketing and commercial lead, with ultimate decision-making authority over the site's customer experience, merchandising, marketing calendar, content priorities, promotional strategy, and customer acquisition initiatives
  • Act as the internal owner of the DTC business, setting priorities and making the final call on how the site is positioned, marketed, and presented to the consumer
  • Have the ability to leverage multiple external platforms, including social media, to increase awareness, conversion, and brand promotion for Beautyspace.com
  • Develop and execute the DTC growth strategy across acquisition, conversion, retention, engagement, and customer lifetime value
  • Own the DTC marketing calendar across product launches, campaigns, merchandising moments, email, content, promotions, partnerships, and brand storytelling
  • Determine which brands, products, stories, and commercial opportunities receive priority on Beautyspace.com
  • Partner with the parent company's Social, Creative, Public Relations, Visual, Asset Creation, and Analytics teams to execute the strategy — leveraging those resources while retaining ownership of the brief, priorities, decisions, and final outcome
  • Monitor site performance and make ongoing decisions around traffic, conversion, merchandising, content, promotional activity, and customer engagement
  • Identify opportunities to improve conversion rate, average order value, repeat purchase, customer acquisition cost, ROAS, and overall customer lifetime value
  • Work closely with e-commerce and operational partners, including Development and Technical teams to ensure the site is properly supported from launch through fulfillment and post-purchase experience
  • Continually improve the digital customer journey from discovery through purchase, loyalty, and repeat engagement

Beautyspace Rewards / Loyalty

  • Own the BEAUTYSPACE Rewards loyalty program, including strategy, customer engagement, benefits, communications, and ongoing program development
  • Develop initiatives that increase enrollment, engagement, frequency, retention, and customer lifetime value
  • Use loyalty data and customer behavior to inform segmentation, personalization, promotions, and DTC marketing
  • Identify opportunities to connect loyalty activity with wholesale and broader brand-building initiatives
  • Track and optimize key loyalty KPIs including enrollment, active members, repeat purchase, frequency, retention, and revenue contribution

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop two direct reports:
    • Retailer Partners Associate — supporting wholesale account marketing, retailer requirements, calendars, activations, and execution
    • Brand Partners Coordinator — supporting brand communication, assets, launches, marketing requests, and day-to-day coordination
  • Establish clear priorities, deadlines, and accountability across the team
  • Be willing to personally own execution, when necessary, rather than delegating every task
  • Build a team culture that is fast, collaborative, commercially minded, and highly accountable

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with Buying, Business Development, Merchandising, Planning, Operations, Visual Merchandising, Finance, Technology and Development and the parent company's shared-service teams
  • Leverage parent-company capabilities across social media, creative and asset production, and analytics rather than duplicating those resources internally
  • Clearly brief internal partners and agencies, ensuring work is delivered on time and aligned to commercial priorities
  • Act as the connective tissue between brands, retailers, internal teams, and the consumer
  • Ensure marketing activity is connected to measurable business outcomes rather than activity for activity's sake

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, ideally within beauty, fashion, luxury, retail, or consumer
  • Strong preference for experience working across multiple brands, multiple channels, and/or multiple retail partners
  • Deep passion for and knowledge of the beauty business — you should genuinely love the category, understand how consumers shop it, and be excited by brands and products
  • Experience owning or significantly contributing to a DTC/e-commerce business, including responsibility for site merchandising, customer acquisition, conversion, retention, and performance marketing
  • Demonstrated understanding of ROAS, CAC, conversion, traffic, AOV, retention, and customer lifetime value
  • Experience with loyalty programs and/or CRM is highly valued
  • Experience managing retail marketing programs and understanding how marketing translates into traffic, conversion, sell-through, and brand growth
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without losing attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with retailers, brands, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership
  • Comfortable working with data and analytics and using performance information to make decisions
  • Experience managing people and developing junior talent
  • A bias toward action, you see something that needs to get done and figure out how to get it done
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly

What we offer:

  • Phenomenal discounts on products within the beauty industry and beyond
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision along with supplemental benefits available after 60 days
  • 401 (k) available after 1 year of service with up to a 4% match
  • 17 days PTO and Paid Holidays, (pro-rated for the first year based on your start date)
  • Salary commensurate with experience $135,000 to $150,000
