Director of Partnerships

Position Summary 

The Director of Partnerships will own Refersion’s dormant partnerships channel. This is a keystone position for our growth plan with the ideal candidate stepping in with existing agency and technical partnership relationships from an adjacent ecommerce tool (messaging, customer lifecycle management, social media management, etc.). Day to day, you will develop, manage and grow a portfolio of agency and technical partnerships, with agencies being the initial priority. 

This is a revenue-generating position with a highly lucrative incentive plan and career upside. This position will report directly to, and have significant support directly from, the CEO.

Responsibilities

Build & Nurture Partner Relationships

  • Establish regular meeting cadences with partners to foster strong referral relationships.
  • Set up dedicated communication channels (e.g., Slack) to facilitate seamless collaboration.
  • Organize partner events and comarketing to enhance rapport and build your relationships.
  • Develop and execute email campaigns to nurture and engage current partners.
  • Promote new product functionality and special offers to maximize agency portfolio opportunities.

Support Partner Education

  • Organize informative sessions (Lunch and Learns) to educate partners about Refersion’s capabilities.
  • Ensure partners have a comprehensive understanding of Refersion’s capabilities.
  • Represent Refersion on webinars and in-person events to effectively communicate value propositions to partners.

Drive Revenue

  • Effectively manage the partner portfolio, ensuring maximum yield from partner-driven deals.
  • Evaluate and measure performance metrics including Closed Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), new partner acquisitions, partner churn, total leads, emails, meetings, and events.
  • Implement strategies to incentivize partners to ascend tiers within the partnership program.

Prospecting, Outreach, and Lead Tracking

  • Identify and research potential partners and their services.
  • Execute targeted outreach to engage partner prospects.
  • Conduct comprehensive product demos for new partners, providing an overview of the tool and integrations.
  • Monitor referred leads as they progress through the sales pipeline.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years in partnership management within an eCommerce technology company that serves Shopify Brands - preferably agency partnerships.
  • A history of absolutely crushing targets in a revenue-attributed partnership role.
  • The ability to step in on day 1 with a book of existing agency relationships.
  • A desire to be a highly impactful contributor to the growth of Refersion - this is not a role for someone that wants to be tucked away in a corner somewhere.
  • Someone who prioritizes getting things done.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Represent the company at virtual and in-person events.
  • Manage activity and pipelines.
  • Opportunities to travel are available.

This role demands a results-driven professional who excels in partner relationship management and is adept at leveraging collaborative opportunities to drive business growth. The Director of Partnerships will be instrumental in shaping Refersion’s overall growth trajectory, and will be compensated accordingly.

With established relationships from existing partnerships in your current book of business, the ideal candidate is ready to come in sprinting.  

First 30 Days

  • A deep understanding of the Refersion product
  • 10+ meetings completed with existing agency contacts
  • Mining Refersion’s existing partnership and affiliate program for opportunities
  • Onboard your first Refersion Agency Partners

Days 31-90

  • The first customers from your existing agency relationships should be coming in
  • A regular cadence set up with established Agency Partners to identify opportunities for referrals and introductions
  • Be regularly onboarding new Agency Partners
  • Identify merchant referral opportunities from your Agency Partners
  • Provide ongoing enablement and training to Agency Partner teams
  • Assist with coordination of Agency Partner related events, webinars, and other co-marketing activities by leveraging Refersion’s CEO and content team
  • Actively source opportunities for Refersion feature in Agency Partner-organized initiatives

1-Year Success

  • Continue to grow the Agency Partner referral engine, bringing on a supporting Partnerships Manager and Sales Managers
  • Work closely with GTM teams for Agency Partner enablement around new integration and product releases
  • Grow overall awareness of the Refersion product through the Agency Partner Network
  • Scaling the Partnership engine successfully will ultimately result in this Director of Partnerships the opportunity to move into Revenue Leadership
