The Director of People Experience will oversee day-to-day HR operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, total rewards and wellness, compliance, community relations, and organizational/employee development. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees while helping drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention, and company culture.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, managers and employees on HR-related matters.
  • Advice, counsel, and coach on complex workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Support leaders in creating high-performing, engaged teams.
  • Partner with leadership to identify training and development opportunities.
  • Assist managers with performance improvement plans and employee coaching.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent.
  • Oversee the total rewards strategy to ensure plans are market competitive to attract and retain top talent
  • Coordinate employee and community relation events and related company-wide communications.
  • Drive onboarding experiences that enhance employee retention and productivity
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support policy development and employee handbook updates.
  • Partner with legal counsel when necessary, regarding employment matters.
  • Assist with HR audits and compliance reporting.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
  • Support diversity, inclusion, and wellness initiatives.
  • Manage, lead, and develop the People Experience team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification (preferred).
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting professional services, consulting, technology, or corporate environments.
  • Experience handling employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Exceptional people skills and proven ability to build credibility and influence outcomes across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred experience supporting multi-state workforces.
  • Preferred experience working in a consulting, managed services, or professional services organization.
  • Receptiveness to giving/receiving feedback in an open environment is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Preferred candidate will reside or relocate to Houston.
