Role overview:

We are so excited to be hiring our first Director of Performance Marketing reporting to our CEO and overseeing our marketing agency and retention consultant. The mission of this role is to oversee our performance marketing efforts and drive our business growth through scaling our existing channels (efficiently & profitably) and launching new ones (through a sound testing program). We are looking for an analytical and business-driven team member who is accountable and driven to align marketing strategies to our most important KPIs.

This role is based in NYC with a flexible, hybrid schedule.

Day to day:

  • Lead the development and implementation of data-driven marketing strategies to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention across our key channels including paid social, search, shopping, and email/SMS

  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize marketing campaigns to maximize ROI, improve conversion rates, and achieve KPIs

  • Explore, test, and recommend new marketing channels including but not limited to affiliate, referral, and direct mail programs

  • Own marketing budget and create monthly spend plan with the goal of deploying dollars efficiently across channels and programs and adapting to business needs and trends

  • Develop a full picture of the customer journey and leverage those insights to optimize existing programs and introduce new channels

  • Take brand stories and creative direction and thread them through each marketing channel in a way that will perform while staying true to the brand and campaign message

  • Oversee our marketing agency and retention partner, guiding them to deliver results required to meet our annual growth goals; bring a perspective on building out our team in-house over time

The experience we’re looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience in performance marketing with 3+ years of experience managing others

  • Prior experience leading a marketing strategy in a consumer business that is first order profitable

  • Channel experience with Meta and Google Search & Shopping; a bonus if you bring experience managing email/SMS, affiliate marketing, or direct mail campaigns

  • Someone with a strong business acumen who will lead all strategies through the lens of the company’s key growth metrics

  • Someone who is driven to create high performing channel strategies while upholding our brand standards

About our company & culture:

  • We are a 20-person, growing, profitable company, dedicated to providing our customers with premium cushioned mats and easy care home goods, featuring hand-illustrated designs from artists inspired by textures and textiles from around the globe

  • We are in high growth mode, growing our business and aligning our organization alongside our growth - there is a huge opportunity to come in and make an outsized impact

  • We are organized and strategic but also believe in taking risks, operating with a bias for action, and failing forward

  • We believe strongly in transparency, giving our team access to all of the information and context they need to do a great job

  • We care deeply about our products and our customers, putting our best foot forward every day to deliver for them
