We support educators in effectively teaching to learner variability by supporting the development of 1) inclusive mindsets & practices, 2) effective co-teaching and educator collaboration, and 3) data-driven teacher development systems. Our product offerings support school and systems leaders in system and school-level planning and design, instructional leader development, and content-driven teacher development.

The Role

Blue Engine is seeking a Northeast-based Director of Implementation to implement Blue Engine’s products across the region, with much of the portfolio expected to be NYC-based. The Director of Implementation will lead the contextualization and implementation of our cohort products, supporting educators and leaders in using data effectively, delivering instruction that meets learner needs, and strengthening collaboration and co-planning. The coach will directly support partnership launch, job-embedded development, and data-to-action planning for our cohort products. Additionally, the Director of Implementation will lead professional learning and serve as a project team member, supporting systems to develop effective enabling conditions for inclusive instruction. This role is ideal for someone passionate about instructional coaching and creating inclusive classrooms for all learners.

Primary Responsibilities & Outcomes:

I. Partner Implementation and Impact | 75%1. Lead direct implementation that changes educator and leader practice
  • Internalize, contextualize, and deliver Blue Engine products with integrity across an assigned portfolio.

  • Facilitate professional learning, communities of practice, coaching cycles, and strategic-planning sessions for teachers, instructional coaches, and school and district leaders.

  • Coach educators on the technical practices, adaptive mindsets, and team dynamics for inclusive instruction.

  • Support partners to strengthen the systems, routines, and enabling conditions that sustain changes in practice.

  • Adapt implementation to partner context while protecting the core product elements required for impact.

  • Work effectively across grade levels and content areas, drawing on internal or external expertise when specialized content knowledge is required.

2. Own implementation progress and impact across an assigned portfolio
  • Develop and execute implementation plans aligned to partner goals and Blue Engine product objectives.

  • Establish clear roles, expectations, decision-making, and measures of success with partner stakeholders.

  • Coordinate schedules, communications, deliverables, data, and follow-up across concurrent partnerships.

  • Monitor implementation progress and proactively identify risks, barriers, and emerging needs.

  • Communicate directly when partner decisions, practices, or conditions put intended outcomes at risk.

  • Diagnose root causes, adjust strategy, and escalate issues beyond the role’s authority or locus of control.

  • Build authentic, accountable relationships that support engagement, learning, and implementation progress.

3. Use evidence to guide implementation and demonstrate impact
  • Collect and analyze implementation, perception, practice, and student-outcome data.

  • Use multiple data sources to identify progress, disparities, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Adjust professional learning, coaching, and partnership strategy in response to evidence.

  • Lead progress-monitoring conversations that help partners interpret evidence and determine next actions.

  • Translate evidence into a clear and appropriately qualified story of implementation progress and impact.

  • Maintain timely and accurate implementation records and portfolio updates.

  • Provide Partnership Development leaders with evidence, partner context, risks, and recommendations that inform renewal and expansion decisions.
