As the Director, Project Management, you will play a critical role in advancing this mission by leading a high-performing team to deliver strategic software implementation and integration projects that directly impact our customers' success.

This position reports to the Vice President of Customer Operations and leads a team of Project Managers responsible for activation and delivery of our Connect and Optimize solutions. You will bring a strategic lens to project delivery—transforming project execution into a value-generating function that aligns with our growth and customer success goals. This role requires a seasoned leader who can drive cross-functional collaboration, build scalable processes, and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.

Key Relationships: Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Activation Managers, Sales Executives and Chief Product Officer 

Key Responsibilities

 Strategic Leadership & Organizational Alignment

  • Lead the project management function to drive successful outcomes across customer-facing implementations and platform activations.
  • Align project delivery with broader business strategies and customer success objectives.
  • Develop and oversee a scalable project portfolio management framework to evaluate, prioritize, and execute high-impact initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on project readiness, risks, and resourcing needs.
  • Represent the PMO in cross-functional planning, partnering closely with Product Engineering, Customer Success, and Business Operations.

Team Management & Development

  • Direct and develop a team of Project Managers, fostering a high-performance culture with a strong focus on outcomes, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the VP, Customer Operations and the People team to define and evolve the team’s structure - clarifying roles, responsibilities, leveling, and headcount planning in alignment with business needs.
  • Coach and mentor team members to grow their skills and advance their careers.
  • Promote a collaborative, action-oriented culture that is aligned with MacroHealth’s values.

Project Delivery Excellence

  • Oversee the delivery of complex implementation projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality execution.
  • Lead internal project governance efforts, establishing and managing stage-gating processes to assess product readiness and organizational capacity before greenlighting new projects.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Product, and Engineering teams to evaluate feasibility, align timelines, and set realistic go-live dates based on solution readiness and operational constraints.
  • Exercise sound judgment and influence to balance speed-to-market with delivery quality, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and managing expectations proactively.
  • Ensure smooth client onboarding experiences through transparent execution and proactive stakeholder management.
  • Translate customer business needs into actionable plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Operational Efficiency & Process Optimization

  • Design and continuously improve project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and supporting toolsets (e.g., Jira, SmartSheets).
  • Standardize documentation, reporting structures, and dashboards to increase visibility and transparency.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align work breakdown structures and enhance implementation workflows.
  • Lead data-driven decision-making through the creation of metrics and KPIs that measure project health, team performance, and customer outcomes.

Risk & Resource Management

  • Implement structured risk management frameworks to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential issues.
  • Optimize resource allocation and capacity planning across teams, aligning with current and future project pipelines.
  • Maintain and communicate a centralized project calendar to provide visibility across the organization.

Stakeholder Engagement & Client Success

  • Act as a key liaison for external client engagements, ensuring strategic alignment and exceptional execution from kickoff to post-launch.
  • Lead communications with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency, clarity, and trust throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster strong partnerships with customers, ensuring their journey with MacroHealth leads to measurable success and satisfaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a software company.
  • Strong background in enterprise software development projects, SaaS implementations, and customer success.
  • Ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices in project execution and solution delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and other project management methodologies.
  • Proven ability to implement scalable project management frameworks and optimize workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira configuration, dashboarding, and reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Expertise in risk assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Experience in capacity planning and resource management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of US Healthcare Payers, including enrollment, claims, pricing, and clinical operations.
  • Experience with EDI and healthcare data exchange operations.
  • Familiarity with business process optimization and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to change, and work in a high-growth environment.
  • Experience in defining and executing Enterprise Project Management Office (“ePMO”) processes and procedures.
