Ameresco has a unique opportunity for a Director, Proposal and Marketing to lead strategic pursuit efforts and marketing initiatives that drive growth across energy conservation and renewable energy markets. This role will serve as the executive lead for proposal development and marketing programs, ensuring best-in-class deliverables and positioning Ameresco for success in competitive markets.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for proposal development and marketing activities to support corporate growth objectives.
- Oversee the preparation (lead, develop, and produce) of complex energy conservation and renewable energy proposals to ensure deadlines are met and deliverables are complete, compliant, and compelling.
- Direct the development and maintenance of information databases (CRM, resumes, images) to streamline proposal preparation and reporting.
- Guide the creation of marketing materials and presentations for client interviews and executive-level engagements.
- Participate in client debriefings on both successful and unsuccessful pursuits and distribute lessons learned to improve proposal processes, systems, and outcomes.
- Lead the preparation of award applications, case studies, onsite event logistics, letters of recommendation, and other strategic marketing initiatives.
- Drive market research and competitive analysis to inform pursuit strategies.
- Cultivate new avenues for proposal lead development and strategic partnerships.
- Oversee and monitor the proposal calendar and database tracking project status, ensuring visibility and accountability across teams.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing proposal and marketing team, fostering innovation and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in proposal management, marketing strategy, or business development within engineering, construction, or energy-related sectors, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, sustainability, or related field or equivalent experience desirable.
- Proficiency with MS Office™ products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Office 365, and Salesforce.
- Superior technical writing skills and deep knowledge of RFQ/RFP processes.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe™ Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Graphic design capabilities preferred.
- Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with executive presence.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
- Valid Driver’s License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
- Some travel may be required.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $161,000–$233,000 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.
Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
