Job Title: Director, PR & Communications

Reporting to: VP, Integrated Marketing

Location: Remote (U.S.) or Hybrid (Boston, MA)

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and strategic Director of PR & Communications to shape how the world sees Quickbase. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of earned media, thought leadership, and external storytelling—with a specific focus on raising visibility among business, tech, and vertical industry audiences. You’ll have the opportunity to craft a compelling narrative for an AI-era enterprise platform and elevate a brand with a growing voice in the future of work.

You’ll report to the VP of Integrated Marketing Communications and work closely with our executive leadership team, while collaborating across marketing, product, and customer teams. This is a unique opportunity to lead, shape, and grow—with the support of an experienced team and trusted agency partners.

What You’ll Do & the Impact You’ll Have

As Director of PR & Communications, you’ll be at the forefront of how Quickbase shows up in the world. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution and offers a real opportunity to shape perception, build momentum, and tell stories that matter. Here’s how you’ll contribute:

Lead and Evolve Our External Narrative

·       Develop and execute a proactive communications strategy that builds awareness and credibility with key audiences including media, analysts, customers, and industry influencers.

·       Shape and refine messaging that reflects our voice, values, and vision for the future of Dynamic Work Management.

Drive Media Engagement and Visibility

·       Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier business, tech, and trade media.

·       Lead the charge on securing meaningful coverage across key moments—product launches, customer stories, executive insights, and market commentary.

·       Create compelling press materials, pitches, and thought leadership content that resonates.

Elevate Our Executive Presence

·       Develop and manage thought leadership programs for senior executives, including speaking opportunities, bylines, podcasts, and conference appearances.

·       Help position company leaders as credible, forward-thinking voices in AI, SaaS, and digital operations.

Support Strategic Moments and High-Stakes Messaging

·       Serve as a trusted partner during critical or sensitive business events.

·       Lead external communication efforts during product issues, competitive developments, or crisis scenarios, ensuring clarity and consistency.

Collaborate Across Teams to Tell Great Stories

·       Work closely with product marketing, demand generation, customer marketing, and content to integrate communications into broader campaigns.

·       Partner with internal teams to identify and amplify compelling customer stories, innovation highlights, and business milestones.

Manage Partnerships for Scale and Execution

·       Oversee day-to-day work with external PR agencies and vendors to ensure aligned, high-quality execution.

·       Guide social media strategy (particularly on LinkedIn), amplifying earned media and thought leadership content.

Build and Develop a High-Performing Team

·       Lead and mentor a small communications team, fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, and accountability.

·       Create space for growth while ensuring a focus on results and alignment with business goals.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Expertise

·       Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field and 8–10 years in PR or external communications, ideally in high-growth B2B tech, SaaS, agency, or platform companies.

·       Strong experience pitching and placing stories with tier-one and trade media.

·       A solid track record building successful earned media and executive visibility programs.

·       Comfortable translating technical and product concepts into accessible, business-relevant messaging.

·       Experience collaborating with C-suite executives and cross-functional teams.

·       Background working with PR agencies and managing vendor relationships.

Bonus points for:

·       Experience in vertical SaaS, AI, or operations-focused platforms.

·       Previous work in PE-backed or growth-stage companies.

·       Analyst and influencer relations exposure.

How We’ll Measure Success

·       Increased share of voice and quality media coverage.

·       Growth in executive thought leadership opportunities and brand recognition.

·       Successful support of product and customer storytelling across campaigns.
