Overall Purpose

Our Relevance Strategy team sits at the intersection of culture and brand, decoding social trends, subcultures, and movements to connect our clients to the moments and communities that matter, and translating that intelligence into creative work that resonates at scale.

As a Relevance Strategy Director, you own the strategic cultural direction of your accounts. You are the analytical anchor and creative catalyst on your client teams, connecting what is happening in culture to what brands need to do next and making sure the work reflects it. Proactively looking for new opportunities for their clients. We win when we know what's next, always thinking about where the brand can go next. KNOWING, and knowing what to do with it.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the day-to-day strategic direction for assigned client accounts, bringing cultural intelligence into every brief, recommendation, and creative conversation.
  • Proactively looking for new opportunities for their clients. We win when we know what's next, always thinking about where the brand can go next. KNOWING, and knowing what to do with it.
  • Partner with creative teams as a cultural catalyst, rooted in what is moving in culture rather than what sounds strategically safe.
  • Architect and lead fast-paced internal and client workshops that turn real cultural observations into tactical creative directions that teams can execute against immediately.
  • Guide junior team members in synthesizing platform intelligence, pushing toward human, culturally grounded insight over raw performance data and metrics recaps.
  • Play an active role in new business pitches, build cultural landscape assessments, and own the strategic narrative that connects cultural opportunity to client business needs.
  • Manage and develop Associate Directors and Strategists, building a team that moves fast, thinks in culture, and leads with POV.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • 7-9 years of experience in brand strategy, social strategy, cultural strategy, or a related advertising or publishing environment.
  • Fluent in the creator ecosystem and the cultural verticals most relevant to your accounts, with genuine embedded knowledge of the space.
  • Strong ability to bridge cultural intelligence and brand strategy, connecting what is happening in culture to what a client needs to do next.
  • Comfortable with social listening tools, native platform analytics, and audience intelligence platforms; uses data to sharpen a cultural argument, not replace one.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, able to structure a compelling strategic narrative and deliver it persuasively to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships and bringing proactive strategic thinking to accounts without being asked.
