This role is remote with potential travel to our main office in New York or the FreedomCare hub closest to you for meetings and/or collaboration.
Position Overview:
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management will lead and transform the organization’s end-to-end revenue cycle operations across multiple states. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy, efficiency and scalability of billing, reimbursement and accounts receivable processes as FreedomCare continues to grow.
Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will partner closely with Accounting, FP&A Operations, Compliance and other cross-functional teams to strengthen revenue integrity, improve cash flow performance, and enhance visibility across the organization. Through these efforts, the Director of Revenue Cycle Management will help ensure the organization’s revenue engine is predictable, data-driven, and scalable within a complex multistate environment.
Everyday Responsibilities Will Include:
Revenue Cycle Leadership
- Lead end-to-end and revenue cycle operations including billing, claims submissions, denial management, accounts receivable and collections
- Evaluate existing processes and implement improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency and scalability
- Lead the development of modern, scalable revenue cycle infrastructure capable of supporting continued organizational growth and multi-state expansion
Billing, AR & Cash Flow Management
- Oversee billing operations across multiple payer types (Medicaid, managed care, etc.)
- Monitor and improve key revenue cycle metrics including days in accounts receivable, denial rates, clean claim rates and collections performance
- Implement strategies reduce aging AR and improve overall cash flow
Process & Systems Optimization
- Create workflows, policies and procedures across revenue cycle operations
- Partner with Finance, IT and Operations to evaluate and optimize revenue cycle technology, including billing platforms, reporting tools and automations opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability
- Implement reporting and dashboards to improve data visibility and operational decision making
Financial & Cross-functional Partnership
- Partner with the VP of Finance, Accounting and FP&A to support revenue forecasting, financial planning and cash flow projections
- Collaborate with Operations, Compliance and IT to ensure alignment between service delivery, payroll and billing
- Provide senior leadership with insights into revenue performance, reimbursement trends and operational risks
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop revenue cycle team members responsible for billing, accounts receivable and collections
- Establish performance metrics and accountability structures
- Build a foundation of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle leadership
- Experience managing billing and accounts receivable operations in a healthcare environment
- Strong experience with Medicaid and government payer billing
- Experience improving revenue cycle processes within a growing or complex organization
- Deep knowledge of healthcare billing, reimbursement structures and payer regulations
- Strong technical aptitude with revenue cycle systems, reporting tools, and process automation with the ability to leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and data visibility
- Experience implementing revenue cycle metrics, reporting frameworks and performance dashboards
- Experience operating in multi-state healthcare environments
- Experience in home care, healthcare services, or value-based healthcare models preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills

At FreedomCare, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides our employees with the opportunity to professionally grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,000 and $170,000 per year at the commencement of your first year of employment. Compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors which may include, but are not limited to: skill set, years of relevant experience, education, location, and licensure/certifications.
