The Opportunity
As a Director of Sales, you’ll be tasked with understanding the product strategy and roadmap in order to provide customers and prospects with information about key functionalities and features. You will grow the new business pipeline, provide tailored product demonstrations, and convert trialists into key accounts. This role involves networking, maintaining key relationships, and strategizing as to what new products and expansion opportunities benefit the client. You will play an important role at EnerKnol as it scales and grows and also have the opportunity to be part of a fun and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Prospecting: Identify and close high-value partnerships with Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs), energy developers, consultancies, and law firms.
  • Solution Mapping: Discover prospective clients' pain points, showcase how the EnerKnol Platform eliminates them, and clearly summarize the business impact.
  • Pipeline Mastery: Independently grow the new business pipeline, provide tailored product demonstrations, and convert trialists into key accounts.
  • Complex Deal Management: Navigate multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving Regulatory, Engineering, and Procurement departments.
  • Market Leadership: Stay ahead of energy trends, such as grid modernization, and orchestrate workshops to educate customers on platform value.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 4+ years in industry (product, data, technology, execution, analytics, consulting), in a sales role, selling to energy information buyers.
  • 2+ years hands-on prior work experience with enterprise and/or SaaS sales
  • Established relationships with, and experience in selling to energy consulting or law practices, electric/natural gas utilities, information technology or other energy related companies
  • A solid track record of exceeding sales quotas, and professional references that will vouch for your performance in past roles.

Desired Skills:

  • Developing and implementing business development strategies
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills (written, phone and in-person)
  • Establishing and structuring channel partnerships for SaaS products is a plus.
  • Strategic, results-oriented, team player
