Position Overview

Randa Apparel & Accessories is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and commercially driven Director of Sales to lead key national retail partnerships and drive profitable business growth across a portfolio of brands and product categories.

This highly visible leadership role is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, expanding market share, identifying new business opportunities, and strengthening executive-level relationships with major retail partners. The Director of Sales serves as a critical link between Sales, Merchandising, Design, Product Development, Sourcing, and Planning teams to deliver innovative product assortments that meet customer needs and achieve revenue objectives.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of strategic thinking, retail expertise, relationship management, and business acumen, with a proven track record of driving growth within a wholesale, branded consumer products, apparel, accessories, or retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development & Account Leadership

• Develop and execute comprehensive account growth strategies that drive revenue, profitability, and market share across assigned accounts and brands.

• Own executive-level relationships with key retail partners, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic business partner.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, category expansions, and distribution channels that support long-term growth objectives.

• Lead annual business planning, seasonal selling strategies, and account reviews to maximize performance and customer engagement.

• Negotiate pricing, promotional opportunities, and business terms to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Brand & Product Strategy

• Partner closely with Merchandising, Design, and Product Development teams to identify emerging consumer trends, white-space opportunities, and assortment strategies.

• Influence product direction and category development based on market insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback.

• Evaluate new product, brand, and category opportunities, developing business cases and growth strategies to support investment decisions.

• Champion innovation and customer-centric solutions that strengthen brand positioning and drive incremental sales.

Financial & Business Management

• Drive achievement of sales, margin, inventory, and profitability targets.

• Analyze sales performance, market trends, customer insights, and competitive activity to identify risks and opportunities.

• Partner with Forecasting, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to optimize inventory levels and support customer demand.

• Utilize data-driven decision-making to improve account performance and maximize business results.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate across Sales, Merchandising, Design, Planning, Sourcing, and Operations teams to ensure successful execution of customer strategies.

• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Account Executives and Associate Account Executives, helping develop future sales talent across the organization.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Industry & Market Leadership

• Maintain a deep understanding of retail, consumer, and industry trends to anticipate market shifts and identify growth opportunities.

• Represent Randa Apparel & Accessories at customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.

• Strengthen Randa's position as a preferred strategic partner within the marketplace.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 7+ years of progressive sales, account management, merchandising, buying, or business development experience.

• Proven success managing large national retail accounts and delivering consistent revenue growth.

• Experience within apparel, accessories, consumer products, wholesale, licensing, or retail industries strongly preferred.

• Prior people leadership, coaching, or team development experience preferred.

Technical & Business Skills

• Strong financial acumen with advanced understanding of retail math, forecasting, and business planning.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience analyzing sales trends, inventory performance, and customer metrics.

• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

• Ability to synthesize complex data and translate insights into actionable business strategies.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to travel approximately 25-30%, including domestic and international travel.

• Previous overseas travel experience preferred.

• Ability to manage product samples and participate in customer presentations and line reviews.

• Willingness to represent the company at customer events, industry functions, trade shows, and business networking activities.
