Who are we hiring?

The Director Sales is responsible for managing and overseeing the sales operation for partnerships and commercial opportunities for all MSG companies, including MSG Entertainment, MSG Sports, NY Knicks, NY Rangers and MSG Networks. This role will focus on driving revenue through innovative, high-value partnerships while enhancing the MSG brand. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales including OOH (Out of Home) media, relationship management and negotiation.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with Global Partnerships team to work efficiently and effectively on maximizing revenue through strategic marketing solutions and innovative sales and marketing concepts focused on international partnerships opportunities.
  • In conjunction with Strategy team, analyze market trends to target potential international partnerships and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Strategy, Business Solutions and Partner Success teams to implement and develop data-driven sales approach and maximize efficiency in the sales process.
  • Maximize outward facing activities and time with prospects.
  • Support a high-performing team by providing strong mentorship, coaching, and guidance.
  • Develop goals for team members to reach sales targets, create sales reports and build relationships to bring value and profitability.
  • Enhance corporate revenue by surfacing the largest opportunities with Partnership as the hub.
  • Focus efforts on inventory and strategies designed to maximize revenue streams for MSG properties.
  • Represent MSG at events and properties by regularly attending and hosting clients at games, concerts, events.
  • Collaborate with various departments such as Events, Marketing, PR, Finance, Legal, etc. to ensure alignment on partnership execution.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 8+ years direct sales experience and 5+ years as a sales manager.
  • Strong Out of Home (OOH) business acumen and experience. 
  • Strong negotiation skills and relationship builder.
  • High knowledge of brand marketing and sponsorship sales, preferably having sold for both traditional and digital-led ad sales with live events (sports, music) experience a plus. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong cross-functional leader who can partner with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively to maximize productivity.

Special Requirements

  • Required to work event nights, including weekends, based on business need.

Pay Range
$160,000$175,000 USD
