Overview
The Consumer Solutions team leads Mastercard's efforts to build and scale digital payment products with digital and technology partners that enable commerce across devices, contexts, and geographies. We work with the biggest names in tech, ecommerce and financial services to leverage Mastercard's technological capabilities to solve partner business problems, co-innovate, create new propositions, and ensure seamless, secure and inclusive payments.
We aim to achieve this goal through direct engagement with these partners, and by packaging solutions leveraging MasterCard's digital assets such as the Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES), Click to Pay, Secure COF and more.
The Partner Solutions and Standards team is looking for a Director, Product Development, Solution Engineering to join our Solutions Engineering Team who can help build compelling and scalable solutions while maintaining simplicity and usability. Role• Lead technical engagements with various digital players, OEMs and Chip Manufacturers to design solutions that leverage MasterCard's products suites and assets• Partner with digital players to articulate their business and technical requirements - must be proficient in systems, applications and software programming, testing, implementation, documentation, maintenance and support• Define MasterCard technology roadmap/strategy for each digital player• Design solutions and communicate them through clear documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts• Determine and advance operational feasibility through problem definition, project scope• Working closely with Products, Services and Operations/Technology groups at MasterCard and with our partners, to facilitate partners' technical integration to our solutions; collaborate effectively with software developers, processing and software architecture engineers and product managers to solve complex problems• Liaise with prototyping group to create prototypes and help with sales and/or implementation process• Collaborate with Project Management team to provide projects scope and requirements• File for intellectual property when new/unique solutions are created through the process of identifying relevant solutions• Comply with rules of engagement, including business models and data strategy and ensure that MasterCard's interests are protected and progressed
All About You• Strong experience and knowledge of the business drivers and technology of consumer payments, especially digital wallets, tokenization, and authentication.• Expert level technical experience in payments on the product development, processing, and/or merchant side of the business• A good technical understanding and experience of working with developers and technical architects in systems and solutions development or design• Knowledge of techniques for requirements capture and specification and the ability to balance tactical commercial needs against the needs of strategic architecture• Ability to oversee multiple projects and initiatives concurrently• Self-starter, strong analytical ability with good attention to detail and a proven track record of delivering success while operating within a team environment• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to understand and explain technical issues to a non-technical audience• Strong project management skills required; will need to handle multiple projects and initiatives concurrently• Ability to interact and coordinate effectively with internal and external global business partners, influencing skills• Ability to digest complex data and problems and make recommendations with sound judgment• Strong research and analytical skills• Knowledge of Global Platform specifications, EMVCo specifications and restful API design required• Prior knowledge of MasterCard Digital Payments and Core Systems products a plus• Knowledge of Python, web and mobile technologies (HTML5, CSS, JS etc) and designing and implementing software a strong plus• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience required • Travel: 25% in normal circumstances

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.
