About the Role
The Director, Trade Marketing will lead the U.S. trade marketing strategy across Sephora, Ulta, and the professional channel, bringing together brand, retail, and commercial priorities into compelling 360° marketing programs. This person will own the U.S. trade marketing calendar and strategy, partnering closely with Sales, Brand Marketing, Digital, Education, and international teams to ensure programs are aligned and executed effectively. The role will also serve as the key point of connection with international markets, ensuring global strategies are translated appropriately and executed consistently while maintaining relevance for each market.

Responsibilities
  • Own the U.S. trade marketing strategy and annual calendar across Sephora, Ulta, and the professional channel.
  • Develop and execute 360° retailer and channel marketing plans that connect brand storytelling, product launches, promotions, digital, social, CRM, retail media, merchandising, and in-store activations.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Account teams to translate commercial priorities and retailer opportunities into impactful marketing programs.
  • Lead trade marketing strategy for key product launches, seasonal moments, retailer campaigns, and promotional initiatives.
  • Develop retailer-specific plans that are tailored to the unique customer, channel, and business objectives of Sephora, Ulta, and the professional channel.
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Creative, Digital, E-commerce, Education, PR, and Social to ensure cohesive execution across consumer touchpoints.
  • Own the trade marketing budget, calendar, agency/vendor relationships, and overall program execution.
  • Partner with international teams to ensure global trade marketing strategies are effectively localized and executed in-market.
  • Establish clear tools, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency across international markets while allowing for local market needs.
  • Analyze campaign performance, retailer data, and business results to identify opportunities and optimize future programs.
  • Build strong relationships with key retailer and professional partners and stay closely connected to evolving channel priorities and opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings and ensure teams are aligned on timelines, deliverables, and execution.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership on channel marketing opportunities and growth initiatives.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in trade marketing, shopper marketing, retail marketing, brand marketing, or a related function within beauty, consumer, or CPG.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. prestige beauty landscape, with experience working across Sephora and/or Ulta; professional channel experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record developing and executing integrated, 360° marketing programs across multiple channels and consumer touchpoints.
  • Experience partnering closely with Sales and Account Management teams to drive commercial results.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Experience working with international teams and translating global strategies for the U.S. market.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to connect marketing strategy to sales, retailer, and business objectives.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data and insights to inform strategy and measure impact.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
  • A hands-on, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to operate strategically while also driving execution.
  • Passion for beauty, consumer behavior, and the evolving retail landscape.

The salary range for this role is $150,000 $160,000 annually based on experience.
