We’re seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Editor to join our team and support the development of high-quality curriculum and educational materials. Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
Completes tasks with guidance, meeting Level I expectations and gradually developing independence in task completion.
Edits curriculum and associated educational/institutional materials in a variety of systems and formats for grammar, mechanics, clarity, consistency, and adherence to appropriate styles, including house, APA, MLA, Turabian, and others as needed.
Ensures appropriate context, audience, and purpose while editing.
Collaborates directly with curriculum developers and instructional designers to ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and reflect appropriate editorial standards.
Works toward independently managing multiple projects to meet ongoing and varied deadlines.
Stays abreast of changes in the field of editing and requirements of the organization, making appropriate adjustments to practice.
Provides quality service in working with partners, in accordance with workflows within intra- and inter-departmental entities and facilitates communication among stakeholders.
Learns to establish self-driven expectations to achieve a high level of quality, productivity, and service.
Demonstrates proficiency in performing as a Level II Editor to complete job related duties independently within 12 months.
Performs other duties as required.
Equipment Used and Responsibility
Computer Skills: Excellent skill in Microsoft Office suite; Ability to learn additional software as needed.
Writing and Communication Skills: Excellent knowledge of grammar and command of the English language.
Experience/ Education
Bachelor’s degree required in journalism, communication, writing, English, language arts, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Must be able to pass pre-employment investigations.
