About Mecka AI

Mecka AI is building the data infrastructure layer for robotics and embodied AI.
We design and operate global systems for data capture, data labeling, and hardware-enabled workflows used by leading AI labs and robotics companies to train and validate humanoid and embodied AI systems.
We work closely with frontier robotics teams to bridge real-world data, simulation, learning-based systems, and deployed hardware.

About the Role

You will build the electronics and sensing systems that let robots learn from physical experience. From complete camera electronics to wearable sensors, you will turn prototypes into reliable hardware that records useful data across Mecka's growing global capture network.

Own the work from circuit design and first power-on through measurement, system validation, and production.

Relevant Specializations

Bring depth in at least one area; you do not need expertise in all three.

  • Camera SoC electronics: complete camera boards, from SoC, memory, power, and image-sensor interfaces to high-speed PCB design and system bring-up.

  • Wearable and sensor electronics: compact, low-power circuits, low-noise readout, microcontrollers, and embedded C or C++ for sensor integration.

  • Sensing R&D: sensing physics, sensor prototyping, experimental characterization, calibration, and signal processing.

What You Will Do
  • Design circuits, schematics, and PCB layouts for capture devices and wearable sensing systems; bring up and debug the resulting hardware.

  • Select and integrate commercial sensors, or develop new sensing approaches within your specialization. Build prototypes and fixtures.

  • Characterize noise, sensitivity, drift, and repeatability. Develop calibration and signal-processing methods that produce trustworthy measurements.

  • Work with firmware and mechanical engineers to validate power, timing, synchronization, and sensor performance after packaging and repeated use.

  • Carry designs into production with suppliers, using test results and field failures to improve reliability and manufacturing consistency.

Skills and Experience
  • Hands-on circuit design, PCB development, and board bring-up experience, using tools such as Altium or KiCad.

  • A strong foundation in analog and digital electronics, power supplies, grounding, decoupling, and sensor interfaces.

  • Practical debugging and prototyping skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, laboratory power supplies, and soldering or rework tools.

  • Ability to design controlled experiments, distinguish signal from noise and measurement error, and analyze results in Python or a similar language.

  • Evidence of taking a prototype through rigorous testing and resolving problems across electronics, firmware, and mechanical integration. Clear documentation of designs, measurements, and decisions.

Camera SoC specialization

  • Experience owning a complete SoC-based camera or embedded vision board, from component selection and schematics through PCB layout, bring-up, and validation.

  • Hands-on design of DDR or LPDDR memory, camera interfaces such as MIPI CSI-2, storage, high-speed I/O such as USB 3 or PCIe, and power management and sequencing. Ability to define PCB stack-up, impedance, routing, grounding, and decoupling constraints.

  • Ability to debug boot, memory, clocks, resets, and camera links with firmware engineers, and validate sustained capture under realistic bandwidth, power, and thermal loads.

Nice to Have
  • Experience applying tactile, force, pressure, or other wearable sensors in real systems.

  • Experience with flexible circuits, EMC, wireless or battery-powered devices, or production test and calibration.

About You
  • You are ambitious about what you build. You can point to results you personally delivered.

  • You care deeply about your craft, pursue difficult questions, and learn quickly.

  • You take initiative and own problems through to results. You work independently, make decisions, and bring others in when needed.

  • You communicate honestly. You own mistakes, share credit, and help the people around you succeed.

If you don't check every box above but believe you can do the job, we encourage you to apply — we're looking for capability and trajectory, not a perfect checklist match.

We strive to create an inclusive work environment for all; we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, we will partner with you to meet your needs.

We may use AI-assisted tools to help evaluate applications against the requirements of this role. These tools support our recruiting team in identifying qualified candidates but do not replace human judgment or limit which applications may be reviewed or considered.
