ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER

Reports to: Quality Manager

Summary:

The role of Test Engineers is to thoroughly check materials, procedures and electrical systems to ensure that customers get high-quality, functional products. They run tests on various components and features in order to identify and fix technical issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop test methods that meet requirements outlined in governing design specifications.
  • Write and maintain revision-controlled test instructions for all inspection operations.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Test Technicians to analyze non-conformances from inspection.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Test Technicians to record non-conformances in SAP system on Qnotes and disposition as required.
  • Lead a recurring RCCA meeting for internal factory (Q3) Qnotes.
  • Manage calibration of measurement equipment with outside calibration vendors.
  • Responsible for introduction of new measurement equipment such as ATE’s.
  • Perform gage R & R and MSA of measurement equipment as required.
  • Support customer Source Inspection as required.
  • Support customer audits as required.
  • Work with Quality Manager to perform internal audits.
  • Work with Quality Manager to develop quality control plans for all product lines.
  • Work with Quality Manager to support Design Reviews (CDR's, PDR's and FDR's).
Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (Citizen, Green Card).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 certified QMS desired.
  • Experience with ERP system such as SAP desired.
  • Experience with best-practice industry tools such as RCCA, CAPA, PFMEA, 8D Analysis, DMAIC and SPC desired.
  • Must be familiar with Windows and Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Power Point)
  • Must have experience reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Must have experience with electrical inspection tools and equipment such as ATE, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, function generators, multimeters, hipot testers, etc.
  • Must be willing to adapt this job responsibilities as needed.
