ABOUT THE ROLE

The Employee Experience and Workplace Specialist plays a critical role in shaping a positive, engaging, and highly functional workplace environment at Roland Foods. This role is responsible for planning and executing monthly employee engagement programming as well as managing workplace operations to ensure that the New York Headquarters office runs smoothly day to day.

This role sits at the intersection of employee experience, events, workplace operations, and hospitality. The ideal candidate is organized, service‑oriented, proactive, and energized by creating thoughtful experiences—from large‑scale engagement events to daily office operations—while partnering closely with internal teams and external partners.

As a response to the pandemic, Roland Foods office employees have transitioned to a hybrid working schedule, requiring employees to report in-person Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to telework on Monday and Friday each week. Due to the collaborative, cross-functional nature of the organization, employees at the NY and NJ offices are required to work in-person for the abovementioned days, outside of any People & Culture-approved disability accommodation request.

***This role is a flexi-hybrid and at times may require more in office days outside of the forementioned hybrid work schedule depending on business needs.***


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employee Engagement: Help shape and deliver fun, meaningful employee engagement initiatives. Manage the annual engagement calendar, coordinate monthly events, and draft quarterly communications to drive participation
  • Company Meetings: Coordinate the logistics for monthly Town Hall and quarterly Board meetings, including scheduling, day‑of set-up, and Board dinner planning
  • Workplace Operations: Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Roland Foods New York office, partner with building management and related vendors to keep the office organized, well‑run, and foster a productive environment
  • Guest Experience: Be the friendly first point of contact for visitors. Manage front desk operations, office supplies, and incoming mail to ensure a welcoming on‑site experience
  • Administrative Support: Process monthly expense reports for yourself and executives, ensuring everything is accurate and submitted on time; occasional support for executive travel logistics may be required
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across the company, such as Culinary, IT, Creative, and Legal to support smooth office operations and successful events

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required

  • 2–3 years of experience in administrative support, events, office operations, project management, or hospitality
  • Strong organization skills, project management, and attention to detail with the proven ability to work independently
  • Proven success in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines, priorities, and plan ahead
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a hospitality‑first mindset
  • Actively engaged with the New York City food scene, staying current on emerging trends and translating creative ideas into action

Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint), Slack, Canva, Monday.com, or Jotform
  • Passion for building an intentionally diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace
  • Passion for all things food!

 

SALARY RANGE

Roland Foods hires exceptional people to perform a wide variety of important functions that contribute to the success of the Company. One of the ways Roland Foods does that is through a competitive compensation package. The base salary for this role will be $60,000-$75,000.

Based on your qualifications, previous experience, and transferable skills, the Company will determine, at its sole discretion, the salary offered.
