Description

Resource Innovations is seeking a Program Manager, Market Transformation to join our growing market transformation team. As a Program Manager, Market Transformation with Resource Innovations, you will work in a dynamic team environment leading and managing clients, programs, and projects focused on market transformation initiatives that supports utilities in accelerating adoption of emerging and underutilized energy-efficiency technologies and markets. The Program Manager will play a highly visible role both internally and externally and will be responsible for developing short and long-term project plans, leading market transformation research and implementation activities, developing trusted relationships with clients, industry stakeholders, and program contacts.

As a Program Manager, Market Transformation you will manage and deliver market transformation projects to meet and exceed client expectations. You will effectively redirect the team and/or project approach in response to new knowledge or unexpected events and circumstances. This position requires excellent planning, budgeting, forecasting, research and people-management skills, and a problem-solving mentality. Additionally, experience in market transformation, energy efficiency and knowledge of utility programs, trade ally networks, and emerging energy efficiency technologies is important. Preference given to candidates with passion and experience in gas energy efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct and/or orchestrate all aspects of market transformation initiatives, including project scoping and management, naturally occurring market baselines, end-use technology savings assumptions, primary supply chain and consumer research, secondary industry-focused research, logic models, business and operations plans, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop work plans to meet goals, aligning staff assignments, managing programs to budget and goal, and providing accurate forecasting both internally and to clients.
  • Deliver successful market transformation initiative deliverables to utility client(s) per contract terms and program budgets.
  • Identify, define, quantify, track, and drive program deliverables to be submitted accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate across teams internally and externally on client deliverables, and present at Stakeholder Advisory Group Meetings, when appropriate.
  • Continuously assess project progress to goal and develop innovative and creative solutions to new issues and/or market dynamics.
  • Develop, manage, and foster partnerships with subcontractors, community groups, and other industry affiliates/stakeholders.
  • Manage client expectations, satisfaction, communications, and resolve and/or escalate client issues.
  • Interface with key internal departments such as IT, Marketing, Finance and HR to develop efficiencies to meet program needs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • A Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, energy, engineering or related field of study is required, a master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in energy sector, energy management, sustainability, or related field
  • Proven success in developing and implementing project scopes, budgets and plans.
  • Previous contract development and negotiation experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, and Smartsheets. 
  • Highly motivated, positive, action-oriented attitude showing initiative and creativity. 
  • Commitment to high-quality customer service and the ability to address customer issues/concerns.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with a variety of team members while balancing schedules, budgets, and dynamic project demands.
  • Experience troubleshooting problems and recommending solutions 
  • Ability to identify process improvements and communicate plans for improvement 

Preferred skills, education, and experience

  • Interest or experience in gas energy efficiency preferred.
  • Interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, verbal, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent project and program management skills
  • Ability and experience in short and long-range planning and strategy
  • Proficient in establishing job and work process flows
  • Ability to manage budgets and contract deliverables across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and foster strong relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to collaborate well at all levels within an organization, and a team-player
  • Ability and interest in working with a highly collaborative team
  • Report writing experience preferred
