Job Summary

We are looking to fill a Energy Engineer position to lead and support our energy and decarbonization work on a project and portfolio level. Candidates will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects in a variety of market sectors, including healthcare, science & technology, education, commercial, institutional, and multifamily.

General Duties: 

  • Identification, cost-benefit analysis, and further development of energy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonization initiatives to meet carbon and utility spend reduction goals within the built environment.
  • Technical leadership and oversight of decarbonization plan development through beneficial electrification, building improvement projects, and capital upgrades/investments.
  • Management and mentorship of project teams to ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and firm quality standards.
  • Evaluating building energy performance and carbon reduction assessments.
  • Conducting ASHRAE Level I, II, & III Energy Audits.
  • Performing retro-commissioning in commercial, institutional, and multifamily buildings.
  • Developing clean energy recommendations including technical scope development, energy savings calculations, economic analyses, and implementation cost estimates.
  • Conducting advanced technical analyses, including energy simulations, thermal load profile development, and customized engineering calculations.
  • Leading client communications, including scoping, progress updates, and presentation of results to client leadership & other stakeholders.
  • Coordinating internal staff to ensure successful project delivery, including project planning and execution.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in energy auditing, retro-commissioning, and energy analysis.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and Professional Licensure (PE). (preferred) 
  • Demonstrated experience with decarbonization strategies within the NYS built environment, including large commercial, healthcare, higher education, and K-12 school buildings.
  • Familiarity with NYC energy conservation code and Local Laws, including 84, 87, 88, & 97.
  • Energy industry related certifications such as CEM, CEA, BEAP, CMVP.
  • Strong analytical, technical, writing, presentation, communication, and project management skills.

Compensation:  $110-150K depending on experience
