Position Overview:

CoreWeave is a rapidly growing company that provides purpose-built cloud services that are powering the AI revolution; we are a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers. You will  collaborate with people across CoreWeave to help us deliver power to our data centers in the US and Europe. 

The Energy Procurement Manger will ensure cost-effective, reliable, and sustainable energy procurement while aligning with CoreWeave’s rapid growth in GPU compute infrastructure. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in energy markets, contract negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration to drive strategic energy solutions. They will be part of the sustainability team, working closely with colleagues from data center operations, design, finance and corporate development. This person will play a critical role in energy sourcing, forecasting, and Power Purchase Agreement/Virtual Power Purchase Agreement negotiations for data centers across the U.S. and Europe. 

Key Responsibilities:

Energy Sourcing & Procurement: 

  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive power and renewables energy and utilities strategy for CoreWeave
  • Execute electricity supply contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid, reduce cost, minimize risk and leverage opportunities that benefit CoreWeave
  • Work collaboratively with the data center operations team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities
  • Analyze trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit

Market Intelligence & Risk Management:

  • Analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and consumption patterns to optimize procurement strategies.
  • Mitigate risks such as price volatility, supply disruptions, and regulatory shifts through hedging strategies and contingency planning.

Contract Negotiation & Management:

  • Lead negotiations with suppliers and utilities to secure favorable terms, including PPAs, tariffs, and long-term agreements.
  • Manage contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Sustainability teams to align energy procurement with business objectives.
  • Monitor U.S. and European energy markets, including renewable energy incentives, grid expansion projects, and policy changes.
  • Explore innovative solutions (e.g., on-site generation, storage) to enhance energy resilience for data centers.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years in energy procurement, preferably in tech or data center sectors.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of U.S. and European energy markets, including deregulated power markets.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts (PPAs, tariffs) and manage supplier relationships.
  • Analytical Skills: Expertise in energy forecasting, risk analysis, and financial modeling.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $135,000-$165,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Our Workplace

While we prioritize a hybrid work environment, remote work may be considered for candidates located more than 30 miles from an office, based on role requirements for specialized skill sets. New hires will be invited to attend onboarding at one of our hubs within their first month. Teams also gather quarterly to support collaboration
