As a Software Engineering Manager at Meetup, you will be part of the engineering team and responsible for:
- Managing, coaching, and developing your team of engineers
- Collaborating with engineering leadership to create and support the vision, technical strategy, tactical execution, and quantifying the impact to help move the company forward
- Ensuring your team is executing quickly, effectively, and healthily towards delivering results
- Monitoring engineering execution and delivery across team/pods, identifying risks and solutions, and driving improvements with engineers and cross-functional teams
- Active involvement in recruitment and hiring for engineering talent

- Have experience managing engineering teams of 4 or more people directly or indirectly
- Have a strong desire to continue doing hands-on engineering as well as encouraging best practices (this role is 70% hands on in various languages and technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, and React/Next.js)
- Are adaptable, and can handle changing requirements and difficult problems. You build process for the long-term while managing iterative, short-term needs
- Are proficient in cloud technologies (we use AWS), caching, performance and solution architecture.
- Have experience managing or mentoring local and remote engineers in technical and non-technical topics.
- Have experience recruiting engineers, either by interviewing or setting up recruiting processes.
- Have experience working on a mid to large scale consumer-facing website.
- Have experience and a deep interest in leading initiatives for improving engineering culture, values, process, and delivery.
- Have experience growing and organizing engineering teams

- Manage engineers with different experience/skill set than your own
- Work with our recruiting partners on outreach efforts, interview prep, and interviewing
- Write code and scale our platform, and continuously evolve our architecture!
