More about the role 
Ever/Body is looking for a smart, scrappy Senior Back-End Software Engineer to join our core engineering team and help us build the world’s first direct-to-consumer, tech-enabled experience in cosmetic dermatology. As an early employee, you’ll report directly to the CTO and work with the founders to build the technical foundations of the company.

The ideal candidate is passionate about building products real humans use, cares about consumer privacy, enjoys learning and building beautiful and complex online experiences that “just work”. You will be responsible for designing, architecting, implementing, supporting and scaling a customized electronic medical record system. You should understand (or at least accept) the value of testing and monitoring, as well as the sensitivity around handling patient data and building a stable software platform.

What you'll do:

We believe engineering is a people-focused discipline - you build code with people and for people, and your input on the product is always desired. You’ll collaborate with world-class designers, engineers and business leaders and build something people want, while expanding your techstack and technologies (think: Python, Django, GraphQL, Serverless, autoscaling, etc). In this role, you will: 

• Develop APIs and build an entire electronic medical record ecosystem for use by users, nurses, analysts and administrators. 
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use and clean abstractions with an eye toward scaling.
• Handle customer data with an obsession for privacy. 
• Research new technologies and propose solutions to user needs.
• Find and suggest new ways to leverage technology to improve operations and end user experience. 

What we're looking for:

We are looking for talented and thoughtful engineers from traditional and non-traditional backgrounds. Do you have a passion for using technology to improve people’s lives? Are you excited to join an early stage startup with a lot of room for growth? These are some guidelines (not rules) for what we’re looking for: 

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent (non-traditional backgrounds are very welcome with some professional experience in the field)
• 3+ years of experience working as a back-end engineer.
• Experience building clean APIs, architecting data models and handling scaling. 
• Experience building, deploying and maintaining code in a production environment.
• Ability to design and build new features with (reasonable) autonomy. 
• Familiarity with databases, queues, server-side technology, object-oriented design, logging and distributed systems. 

Bonus points for:

• Expertise with our specific stack: Python 3, Django, Celery, AWS technologies (including ECS, Serverless and Terraform), PostgreSQL and Node.js.
• Some Devops experience is a major plus.
