Backend Engineers at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Formulate and suggest new ideas and features to the team to further improve our products
  • Discuss technical solutions with other engineers and the architecture team where and when necessary
  • Track progress while keeping a fully working product at all times
  • Implement the new functionalities with a passion for quality
  • Review the code changes from your peers before they go into the main line in Git
  • Interact closely with the QA engineers to ensure a TDD approach
  • Report on your progress by updating the status of the Jira issues
  • Demo fully finished parts to your team, and demo your work to the entire development and product teams
  • Celebrate your successes!

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in building scalable software applications using Java, or 3+ years of experience and a Master
  • Solid experience with Relational Databases (preferably PostgresQL)
  • Solid skills with Spring framework
  • You are comfortable working fully in English - we're a global team, and it's the language we share!
  • Knowledge/experience with Cluster Management Frameworks (e.g., Spark), Kafka, ElasticSearch, Docker, Kubernetes and database, build-and-test (preferred).

Measures of success:

  • Within your first month, you will get an understanding of tools and processes used by the development teams at Collibra. You will get the domain knowledge about the most important areas.
  • Within your third month, you will be able to develop new functionalities.
  • Within your sixth month, you will be able to actively participate the in the development process, by developing new functionalities, proposing new solutions and improvements for customers. You will extend your domain knowledge.
