Meetup is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead our Engineering Organization, which represents about 30% of our employees. Working directly and closely with the CEO, VP Engineering and VP of Product, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing the company's engineering strategy, vision, roadmap, and you will ship products that will spark explosive growth on and off the Meetup platform.
What you’ll do:
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and all execs for the overall vision of Meetup, and a key part of an executive team that is looking to meaningfully evolve our business
- Collaborate with our current VP of Engineering to lead the replatforming efforts of the business
- Conceive, explain and accelerate the adoption of an engineering vision promoting fast development iterations during a time of rapid product evolution
- With your leaders, establish, communicate and iterate on the process for how product, design, and engineering work together to ship the highest quality software and an extraordinary Meetup experience for our customers
- Through mentorship and management, ensure that all of engineering is making effective decisions on process, execution, architecture and technical strategy, with the appropriate focus on speed/experimentation versus stability/robustness
- Hold ultimate responsibility for the performance, availability and regulatory compliance of Meetup’s applications and systems
- Ensure that Meetup’s technical vendors and infrastructure are top-notch and fiscally sensible
- Speak at conferences and Meetups as a key ambassador for the company
