Atomic Software, a Brooklyn based software development consultancy, is currently seeking an experienced DevOps Lead to architect, build and maintain infrastructure for multiple teacher-facing software products.  You will be working with small teams of talented developers, product owners and designers on applications that inspire and empower teachers and their students by providing them with dynamic tools to unleash the potential of their students.  


 

About the role:

 

You will own all things infrastructure on multiple projects and will be actively involved in client communication, and your participation in decision making will be essential during all phases of the projects. You will need to leverage your experience in order to create and configure build and deployment pipelines for a variety of programming languages and frameworks including Java/Spring, Python, NodeJS, Angular and React.  You should do your best work in collaborative environments, understanding that a problem for one member of a team affects everyone, and be willing to take a lead in finding timely solutions that are focused on the needs of the team, business value and technical efficacy.  You are passionate about shipping well tested, high quality code, and prioritize the needs of the business as well as the value of the work to the client.  Your input on improvements and automation will contribute to the success of solutions we deliver..

 

 

Our ideal candidate will possess the following technical experience:

 

At minimum, 3 years professional experience in application development or technical architecture in addition to substantial operations experience will be necessary in order to succeed in this role.  

 

 A minimum of 3+ years professional of experience including:

  • Application deployment with Amazon Cloud Services.

  • Source code control systems: Git, Github, GitLab, BitBucket

  • Source code analysis: SonarQube

  • CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Github Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS CodeBuild

  • Artifact management using one (or more) of: Artifactory, Docker Registry, Amazon ECR

  • Configuration Management: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet and Chef

  • Container orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes

  • Application Logging and Monitoring: prometheus, New Relic, Sentry, Rollbar

  • Fluency with JIRA work tracking

  • Automation of developments build and deploy processes (for repeatable, consistent and predictable build and packaging to mitigate any guesswork for developers)
