Working as an FPGA Engineer at Clear Street, you will collaborate with teams of software engineers, quantitative researchers, and traders that build and maintain our elegant, low latency trading systems and research environment. You will identify ways that FPGA solutions can impact the performance of our systems, and then design and implement the FPGAs. Our markets constantly evolve and you will drive innovation of next-gen FPGAs through R&D keeping us firmly on the cutting edge of the industry using high end chips (stratix, ultrascale+) and high speed memory (ddr, qdr). You will lead initiatives to strategically problem solve and innovate, while delivering on short-term objectives and driving long-term roadmaps. 

FPGA Engineer Characteristics:

• You have 3+ yrs of industry experience delivering cutting edge FPGA solutions 
• You know Altera and Xilinx technologies and tools inside and out, including Microblaze, Nios, etc.
• Your FPGAs process and ship large quantities of data, and your design experience includes synthesis, place & route, and timing analysis.
• You have a depth of experience designing system-on-chip (SOC) architectures with Verilog, VHDL, and SystemVerilog.
• You have delivered systems that make your memory and processor subsystems designs, networking architecture, and peripheral components sing in accelerated harmony.
• You overcome the unavoidable limits of i/o with your in depth knowledge of the 10g SerDes, UDP/TCP/IP stack and low level networking.
• You write C++ or Python to conduct unit level testing.
