Front-end Architect
Reimagine the infrastructure of cancer care within a technology and science community that values integrity, inspires growth, and is uniquely positioned to create a more modern, connected oncology ecosystem.
We're looking for a front-end architect who is passionate about using modern web technologies to enable clinical workflows in order to help us accomplish our mission to improve and extend lives by learning from the experience of every person with cancer. Are you ready to be the next changemaker in cancer care?
What You'll Do
Our team is building a disruptive, oncology-specific software platform that connects cancer centers across the world on a common technology infrastructure to address key healthcare challenges.
Today, the Flatiron Health OncologyCloud™ platform includes the industry-leading electronic medical record for oncology (OncoEMR), a first-of-its-kind analytics tool, patient portal, and integrated billing management. We are looking for an expert in front-end UI technologies to help enable all the teams working on the platform. In this role, you will:
- Set technical vision for Flatiron's front-end and web architecture
- Improve engineering productivity by implementing frameworks and toolings that supports the needs of OncologyCloud
- Identify, implement, and evangelize technical standards and innovative engineering approaches
- Modernize legacy user facing features and workflows
- Uplevel front-end expertise and promote technical best practices through coaching and mentoring engineers across the entire initiative
- Work with other engineering leaders to prioritize implementing common patterns across teams
- Serve as a partner to other engineering leaders, Product, Design, and Clinical Experts to build a sustainable and achievable roadmap supporting business objectives
Flatiron engineers work day-to-day with oncologists, product leaders, and data experts. In this role you'll have a chance to expand your communication skills and have mentorship outside of engineering.
Who You Are
You are an experienced engineer with 10+ years of experience with an emphasis on front-end engineering and web technologies. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You're a kind, passionate, and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact.

- You are familiar with development and deployment strategies of web based applications
- You are passionate about crafting fluid, usable, and accessible UIs, and making it easier for other engineers to do the same
- You are experienced in building and maintaining shared design systems
