Job Description

Looking for a new opportunity with a dynamic, fast paced and complex work environment? Reporting into our VP, IT Strategy and Business Service Management, we are seeking a QA Manager to oversee outcomes and delivery. You can help define and deliver the infrastructure, software, security, and system needs for MSK. In addition, you will contribute to scaling, maturing operations and standard methodologies.

 

You will:

  • Develop a QA environments across all products, define the QA strategy, approach and execution in development projects.
  • Perform current state assessment for DevOps and application/infrastructure Reliability maturity including existing practices and measures.
  • Ensure all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance and issue tracking.
  • Provide leadership, education, and guidance to the team on continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure, tooling, monitoring, alerting, and security practices.
  • Lead with an automation first approach for: Repetitive tasks automation, Test automation (unit / regression / functional / Non-functional, integration, security...), continuous integration/deployment, incident management, reporting & transparency
  • Monitoring of all the QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identifying areas of improvement. Implement steps required to improve the processes.
  • Partner with application and business stakeholders to review and define Reliability requirements, SLIs/SLOs/KPIs and execute strategic roadmaps so that all engineering teams can utilize automated, self-service, scalable, cost-efficient, and reliable infrastructure services as standard practice.
  • Build culture of quality and reliability ownership across all roles. Build and evolve SRE organizational model, partner with all stakeholders, to champion and grow the culture of automation, reliability and security across all engineering teams.
  • Eliminate TOIL - Review of manual, repetitive, automatable processes that create overhead. Define automation strategy, tooling, resources and delivery timeline.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field & 7-10 years working in QA management
  • Experience managing QA and testing functions, managing large and complex activities and processes
  • Proven experience implementing and shaping QA processes and strategies
  • Ability to build, implement and direct quality assurance principles and maintain the quality of delivery.
  • A good sense of quality ownership making sure that quality is baked in from the start.
  • You feel a personal stake in the services you support and programs you define and lead
  • You have a deep well of wisdom, positive energy, unbound enthusiasm, & unshakeable integrity
  • Strong technical skills, both functional and non-functional, manual and automation, ideally in a continuous delivery environment
  • Flexible with the ability to and work under pressure
  • Able to motivate a team, recognize good talent and bring out the best out of each individual.
  • Excellent communicator, influencing skills and negotiation skills to get management buy-in on ideas and concepts.
