Paxful is searching for a Senior Backend Engineer who is great at writing clean code, code reviews, unit testing, and has a proactive attitude, to join our engineering team. This role will work closely with stakeholders to build out Paxful’s R&D products. You will be based in our Russia (Moscow, SPB) office or remote.
As a key member of our team, your responsibilities will entail:
- Design Build & Maintain: to design build and maintain applications
- Quality: Write clean, secure, maintainable, testable and module code
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, engineers
- Performance: Solve complex performance issues and architectural challenges
- Mentorship: Perform code reviews and provide feedback to the team
- Take initiative: point out inconsistencies or mistakes they see on the platform
The most important skill and capabilities for this role are:
- Ability to write simple but efficient, testable, and reusable code
- Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
- Work closely with stakeholders on product features
- Be responsible for a feature end-to-end, from ideation to deployment in the production environment
- Help to troubleshoot, test and maintain the product
- Follow company coding standards
- Perform code reviews and mentor your peers
- Cover your code with tests
Target Experience:
- At least 3 years of the development experience
- Strong PHP and OOP skills.
- Experience with frameworks like Symfony, Laravel, Yii
- Good knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
- Working with the high-load systems
- Understanding of security threats and “security by design” principles
- Be ready to work in the fast-growing environment
- Experience of working in a team
- Good verbal and written English
